I look at what is popular and then base my ideas off of that. I sometimes look at different flourishes and try to take things off of what I have seen, and then create new ideas using what I like.

I Practice for at the very least of one hour a day. I sometimes just sit down and go over routines and different flourishes. I just practice whenever I can, as much as I can.

Practice. No matter how good a trick/flourish is it can always be improved. If you learn a trick practice until you a 100% positive that you wont mess in front of people. The worst thing you can do is mess up a trick when just starting out and then people see the "secret" to the whole effect. Practice makes perfect.
