Spell Check

"Spell Check" is an extremely clean and HANDS-OFF version of the classic "Spelling Plot". There are virtually no moves and the spectator can even deal out the cards themselves!

*EFFECT*

The magician asks the spectator to select a card. The card is placed into the deck and the deck is placed down onto the table. The spectator is asked to name the card they chose. The magician hands them the deck and asks them to start spelling out the name of the card as they deal cards down onto the table for each letter in the name. After the last card is dealt, the spectator turns over the top card and it is revealed to be the selected card.

This is my working version of the "Spelling Plot" because it is so simple and so deceptive.

"But Mike.... Why should I consider using your method if this effect has been done before?"

Well... Here are just a few reasons:

-No stacking -No memorized decks -No pinky counts -No suspicious moves -No forces -No estimation or guessing -Outs for every situation -Spectator can deal the cards -Deck can be borrowed -Deck can be examined -Deck can be shuffled -Deck can be borrowed, examined, then shuffled...

...and so on!

The most powerful magic is the magic the spectator performs themselves. This is a true worker and worth adding to your repertoire!

Quite a nice effect. The formulae may seem a little daunting at first, but they're not complicated and once you understand the mechanics, they're very logical. Furthermore, Michael O'Brien provides an excellent tutorial to help you learn them.

This is a great impromptu effect with an amazing teaching guide. It is so simply complex and well thought up. Great job man! Keep up the good work!

This is the BEST free spelling plot card trick I've ever known. Grab this one and amaze your friends whenever you like. Two thumbs up for this awesome effect.

The teaching is excellent but the effect's method is not what I had expected at all which is sort of good and sort of bad. It's slightly overpriced but still a good effect if you are looking for something impromptu.
