What vision do you see for the future of cardistry?
I think it's quite evident nowadays. Cardistry has evolved tremendously and I think it's very likely for it to go on in that same manner. Cardistry is such an expressional artform and it's different from person to person. Since it has no creative limitations or a strict definition, it's ought to become much bigger and well-known in the near future.
How often do you practice - how do you keep your skills (and mind) sharp?
I think after a short period of time, one has learned all the basics and foundational principles in magic to realize, that there's not much more to learn other than well-guarded secrets, complicated systems, difficult monkey-moves and all the other modern shenanigens we have amongst us today.
With the experience and the foundations I have obtained since the day I started learning techniques in all categories of magic, I haven't really been practicing a lot of manual activities. I've rather been concentrated in the art of deception and the deepest psychological minorities within methods, and the presentation of one-self as such an artist in different ways, even questioning myself from time to time.
I believe it's best to improve yourself only if you're open-minded, but concentrated on only one field of magic. One needs to experiment, adapt oneself to certain things, gain experience and understand more about why something works, even if it's self-working.
What is your creative process - how do you come up with new effects and ideas?
Most of the time the question is to be asked, what it is one wants to create. From there on, one can use the foundations and experiences of one's knowledge to create the simplest of methods to achieve such an effect.
Of course, using different methods and techniques to conclude to a result, the effect, will make you a compiler, but not a creator.
Using one's imagination as an idea to create an effect will make you wiser and make your effects simpler, if you have a wild imagination, time, and a lot of mental and physical effort.
At the end of the day, no illusion disguised as even the most surreal magic is perfect if it's not simple and straight to the point.
What advice would you give to new performers just starting today?
Do not carry on with magic, if there's no unconditional, instinctive and forever lasting love for it within you.
