Hi I'm RamGen, I'm a magician from the Philippines. I mostly perform card magic to the public. I also practice on a lot of cardistry routines. Even though I only have a few years under my belt in this industry, almost half of my whole repertoire is my orginal brainchild, routine or effect. So with that said I can hopefully offer you with years of content even with just 2 years under the attribute called experience. :)

How did you first get started in magic?

It all started when it was my first day in the "dorm" I was staying at for College. When my roommate just arrived and he performed a trick on me. And I said "I know how to do that" since I already knew a lot of techniques since i was child, because of a book my father gave to me. But even so I didn't took it seriously. Up until my roommate performed more effects and the more enthralled I became. Fortunately my roommate was so generous to teach and help with the basics and he also lent me his collection of Tutorials. Which included, Paul Wilson's Royal Road to Card Magic and Card College which were my foundations as the magician I am today.

Which artists have inspired you the most in your work thus far?

My foundations were mostly built upon the teachings of Paul Wilson. But the one that inspires the most is Justin Miller and Daniel Madison for their great impromptu routines. Yup, I love impromptu card magic better than anything else. :)

What is your creative process - how do you come up with new effects and ideas?

I usually just tinker with a deck on my hand while listening to music or watching TV/Movies. But most of my creations usually start as something that would seem impossible even for a magician. Like say, A card cleary sitting on your palm disappears with a single swipe or slap. A real effect? You might ask? You'll just have to wait and see.

How often do you practice - how do you keep your skills (and mind) sharp?

I have a lot of hobbies, magic isn't my priority. But i always try to pratice at least 2 hours and create or experiment for new tricks for at least a couple of minutes a day. When not practicing I usually do visualization, and honest to god it really works :)
