My go to effect at the moment is the 'Ambitious Card' routine. Although it is not the most complex, I use it because it is impromptu (the variation I do anyway) and it amazes people. I never do the same routine twice and I add my on flair and a twist.
No new Wire releases this week? I'm been filming my effect debut for a few weeks on and off, and it should be ready to submit within the next two weeks.
Anyway, my go-to effect at the moment is Jack in the Hole. It's my favorite sandwich effect, and absolutely foolproof every time I perform it. No funny movements, no dupes, no gimmicks. It gets amazing reactions, and gives me space to customize how I perform it so that it is different every time.
Definitely the French Kiss right now. Over the summer I preformed it a bunch of times to both people i know and even some new people and got absolutely great reactions.
My go to trick are "here then then there" or "jokers wild". I know you said one trick and both of these aren't the most exotic, but I've only been doing this for a year and I've been working on my people/performance skills. Also the reason I have two because I'm not always prepared for "here then there". Thanks for making magic possible for aspiring young folks like myself!! :)

My go to effect is the 5 and 1 transpo because it is simple visual magic that happens in the spectator's hand and can be carried on you at all times. When the invisible card comes back in stock, hopefully that will become my go-to effect.
