Bizar: Your statement is correct but I find that we are so exposed to magic today that it becomes easy to loose yourself. I wish I was born in time when magicians shared their knowladge through letters and books. The information amount today is so enormous, videos, dvds, downloads.... We don´t have time to develop something personal.. It is not strange that we pick other magicians mannerisms and personalitys..
I loved this performance.
There is nothing wrong with 'being other people' or 'copying Daniel's style' that is what teenagers do. We try on different styles and pick up different things from the people we like and admire. Eventually Suicide Boy will have picked up several things from D+M, himself, and other artist and will combine them to create his own unique style. Everyone tends to mimic people they admire because it is a very effective way to grow and explore the person that they wish to become.
P.S i agree with the whole Daniel Madison thing:) Suicide boy is not the only one though..
Funny because DM himself is working so hard to be cool that he turns himself into parody on the word cool.
My main problem with this trick is the way "the chosen" card is signed. I don´t think it looks natural in the mind of spectators that the card is sticking out halfway when you ask them to sign it,,,The selected card is too obscured during the whole trick which to me diminishes the effect..
You need to find your own style you are trying way too hard to be Daniel Madison. the execution was good, but i found the editing and the voice over at the begging a little too cheesy by the time you got to the actual trick you have already lost me sorry
4/5 was smoth and fast but much too dark for my liking. the beginning was also long and darwn out so that turned me off but the editing and execution were near flawless perfection
I like the "voice" in the begging. I liked some of the teleporting thing (a little too much). But you did perform it very well. But skip the Madison style next time and youre great! Anyway, I gave you a 5/5 because in the end I liked it. =)
haha, yeah. But he's just conforming to another group, or "clique". KIds that try to be "different" or "alternative" are actually just being apart of another group. No offense, suicideboy555. 4/5.
um, it was okay but kind of pointless, pick a card and I will make a hole in it... ??? if there were a kicker ending it'd be better (like do fire in the hole or something) and do you really need to do emo editing for the first minute , filming yourself teleporting all over the room, doing a windermere realty walk-thru of the neighborhood and your house etc? 3/5 stars from me dogg
yes but the best magic does have a context. you NEVER want to say "wanna see a trick I'll make your coin disappear" - you somehow make a story about money being hard to keep or something... you know what I mean? Same thing with a TnR, you don't say "I'm going to rip this and put it back together" it's like, "lets go BACK IN TIME to when your card was one piece" or something... I just don't get what is magical about poking a hole in a card.
In response to you saying this trick is pointless...well, all magic tricks are pointless. Why the heck would you vanish a coin, then make it reappear? Why would you let someone pick a card only to find it again? Why would you rip a card and put it back together? Magic is just about the entertainment, the astonishment and having fun. It doesn't have to have a "point".
