Dude the effect is great. But what i really dont like is the people taht after seeing you performing something original, Im not saying that you created but original they say "Oh I thought of that 3 months ago" thats just BS. Great effect mate.

I came up with a trick like that a while ago. I palmed the card and let the spectator place the deck into the box. This might be a better method for you as it involves the spectator. I do however like the rip the card through the box idea it is very visual and 10x better than the ending i came up with. For future note don't say a trick is original, if it is people will tell you.

The only problems people had were the striking similarity in the handling of Clutch and my effect, C.F.B. Thank you for the warning, though! ;)

UPDATE ON 'CLUTCH' AND MY EFFECT: Please check my forum thread (it's located in General Discussion).

It doesn't matter when you say you came up with it. I'm sure tonnes of people have played with this idea before, it's really quite obvious (I did myself more than a year ago). Why are you still trying to take the credit for it? Are you seriously thinking of selling something which you are not the originator of?

Check my thread on the forums; I've been working with this effect for over five years. I had no clue about Oz's effect Clutch until someone mentioned here, yesterday. Please, get your facts straight before you type up a post like that.

I may be the only one in the dark here, but: What does CFB stand for? Confidentially Flying Boulders? Capture Forty Bulbasaurs? (Gotta Catch 'Em All!) Control Farting Babies? Yeah, I'm lost. Nice video, by the way!

It stands for Capture Fifty Bulbasaurs! It actually is short for 'Card From Box'. I know, my imagination was going full-speed when I came up with the name :P

what's the song?

The song is Cali, by Kastoacha. They were credited in the description that I typed up when I submitted the video. Like I mentioned before, my original description was edited. Now it's an illiterate, quoted sentence. Oh well.

This effect would work nicely with Ray Kosby's effect "Jack in Box."

As I mentioned in my forum post, I believe the use of the words "new concept", in the context I intended it to mean, has been misunderstood. My use of the words "new concept" describe an impromptu, ungimmicked, single-card handling to a "box-jumping" effect. Also, I'd like to point out that in the video description that I typed (and in my forum thread), I said: "... TO MY KNOWLEDGE, this is original". [For some reason, my video description was edited from the time I submitted it and it was posted in the media section.] I am not claiming that it is mine, I am simply stating that the research (also note: i said "little research" in my forum post) that I have conducted has not shown a method similar to mine. You guys can stop repeating each other, now. I know it's very similar to Clutch. Regards, Ben

don't change the meaning of "new concept' to make you look better. new concept means an idea that's never been thought of before..... and not just one little trick. a concept is huge (in terms of applications) and i can't believe your inability to do proper research results in your settling for so-called originality

"dear god please let this be a joke. and to tyler johnson.... dear god please let this be a joke. new concept? jesus whats happening to magic nowadays?" Please re-read my comment and notice that I said I had the same idea. I never said it was my own original concept and that it was some new idea. As for infiltrate, it isn't just that trick, it's in combination of another original trick by me, with different handling. Please read, comprehend, and think before bashing. Peace!

Alright, I hate to keep arguing, but this is getting silly. I've already stated that it's a part of a trick where the rest of it is ORIGINAL. It's like TiVo 2.0 using a double lift. Every magician knows that move, doesn't mean it can't be used in a bigger whole of a trick. AND, you were not takling to the guy in the video. Here, I'll repost exactly what you stated..."and to tyler johnson.... dear god please let this be a joke." "And to Tyler Johnson..." is pretty clear to me, it seems you were talking to me as well, not just the guy in the video. Please, please, stop being sarcastic. You started off bashing, in fact, I never bashed you but defended my position clearly and logically. Your arguments are not logical. I read the post below to benjamind, once again your bashing people. Please refrain from doing so. If you wish to give criticism, give it in a way in which people won't dislike you. Thanks and maybe your next post will have some peace! Tyler

hey buddy..... first off. you said you're going to publish it, and if you didn't think it wasn't your own, why would you publish it? either way you're thinking it's yours, or publishing it while not thinking its yours.... and you're right, in WORDS you never stated it was your concept, but HE did, and did you consider maybe i was talking to the guy in the video? Please read, comprehend, and think before bashing. Peace!

I think everyone has invented this trick at least once. That doesn't mean it's bad though, good job.

Hmmm...I had this same idea two years ago and am actually in the work of publishing it in a PDF of mine. It formulated into a trick I call "infiltrate". Your idea is the same as mine, but my handling is different. Nice job thought!

Really like this trick a lot. Has a great visual appeal to it - literally tearing one's selected card directly through the card box. Sick.

Darn it. Michael and JJJP, where were you guys when I was asking if anyone had any information on the possible history of a trick like this?! Argh, oh well. I believe my handling and the exact method are different. === Thanks for the comments and the new information, guys!

Isn't this just a slightly different handling of Clutch?
