You know I'm sick of people not giving 5s because of bad editing or because they didn't like the music. I give this a 5 because of how great the technique was

coo, and i was not trying to play the expert or anything or saying that i didn't like the music i merly said that i didnt know about it, in other words i was saying i didn't know if i liked it yet. but i do agree that it was synched very well and i saw that the first time i viewed it.
all in all i was just replying to guitarkid2023 on why i rate things on overall quality then just the moves because i believe that there is more to these kinds of videos then just the moves.
ps i gave it a 4/5 but not because of the music (;
But don't play the expert saying it has anything to do with something else than personal tastes... you just sound like a kid with really bad ears, as most of the guys I showed the vid to totally noticed what I just explained :/ (But no worries, I truly understand that you have to be able to go past the "I don't like that song" barrier before being able to notice that)
Of course it's way easier to take a fast tempo music and cut short manipulation segments here and there (be it only for the filming; you can always refilm and refilm till you get that short 2 sec. move right :p). But that vid is showing uncut manipulation so I just have to deal as I can with the strong and less strong moments of the sequences. It's a whole different thing than playing with short edited footage segments, which is unfortunately the kind of vid we see too often these times.
Try it and I'll be glad to comment on your work :)
haha it's cool we have editing experts there, I'm looking forward to seeing your vids so I can really understand better what you mean by good editing ^_^
Ok, now for some additional explanations about my choices with the editing.
The music was chosen for its tempo, even before I filmed.
Putting a song whose tempo is too fast for your moves make them look slower, and vice versa.
I'm a musician myself and that's why I always care for music.
You're not conviced the music fits with the rest? Have another look at the vid and keep what I'm gonna say in mind :
the very first structure formation is following the 3 phases of the song intro... notice how the "whistles" start by the time the card packets start to rise, and notice how a new guitar line is added by the time the sculpture is formed.
Notice how the video cuts coincide with the beats.
In this video I do 2 full uncut sequences. Notice how they both start with a new verse from the song. It's done that way in order to further insist on the fact I'm doing a new sequence which is still built under the same concept (like the new verse has different lyrics but is "built" with the same melodies/lines).
Stopping the 1st sequence and starting the 2nd with the 2nd verse, before showing the end of the 1st sequence also insists on something I wanted to show : when you think the sequence is finished, you can always find ways to continue the structures alterations. " Recasting has no limit "
The strange flashes are also following the beats from a particular moment of that song, so is the final "synopsis" of the 1st sequence.
Maybe I should add that the different stages of formation kinda fit with the different parts from the verses. (for example the first negative color flash to insist on the display with balanced triangle is there exactly when there's that little chord with natural harmonics during the verse...)
In conclusion, like the music or dislike it ; it's fine.
But don't play the expert saying it has anything to do w
that was random, but why i rate things on overall quality that includes technique, music, and editing.
although technique is the most important part the music and editing binds it all together if i were to watch a video that had great moves that can really catch my attention but it has some screamo hanna montana poetry in it with random editing like it was just thrown together i'm not going to give it a 5, i hardly ever give 5's.
the music and editing have to go with the moves in the video to make it flow.
that was pretty schweet, but i don't know about the music though but yeah
anyways i thought something like this has already been created called shapshifting?
Love the steady handz bro! very creative! Must take ALOT of practice... I also think
what you said at the end of the vid about HATERZ!!!!! Could not agree more, so tired of people
trashing each other! Put your vids where your mouth is...
5/5 because of the techniques(and the haterz comment of course)!
