Editors Reel

"This is my editor's reel, for which I used a piece of theory11 music. It also contains clips from a gambling short I did, so I figured it might interest some here."

hmm i feel like this isnt exactly an editors reel while it was edited pretty nicely, an editors reel shouldnt be RE EDITED to fit new music. usually it would be short portions of your work set to new music, but not re edited. to clarify, it would be like 20 seconds of footage, cut to next short, 20 more seconds...ect. i mean think about it. this doesn't show your skills as a narrative editor, it shows that you can edit to music.

Actually, now that i look at it, the last third is almost all how it was in the film, and not re-edited, lol. It just synced up with the music very well.

Although you would think that, most editor reel's that i have seen, save for commercial editors, who's reel's are often just their favorite commercials, consist of re-edited footage. Though I am considering a reel similar to what you are describing.

It's not meant to show any story really, so much as to focus on the editing, lol I can see what you mean by the music, for here, but ironically the choice of music was to use something that would stand out for not being heard often, lol. This is for showing outside of the magic community where, to many, this music would not be over heard, lol. Mind you, I still enjoy hearing T11 music, hehe.

yeah, it's great and all, but severly missused by kids who learned how to rip audio off downloaded videos ;) Would've made an interesting friday night flick! "Cheating Death" by Glenn West. hehe.

Was this an amateur horror movie? Heh. Very original idea! would've been nice to know a little back story. Only thing is the music. Im sick of hearing it on everyone's videos! Gustav

Very nice editing, but didn't think that the blood at the end was necissary, and I would've shown more card 'action'. But good overall.
