Card Stories 4 - Be Yourself

Thanks for everyone's kind words. The stories at the beginning are true. I've always been (still am) nervous to approach a crowd to show them magic and just talk in general. As a kid I finally built up the courage and confidence to show a group of friends and they smacked the cards out of my hands. I almost quit after that. I still remember it to this day. Fight scene: I was beat up real bad in front of a lot of my peers. I was all black and blue and that was the low point that started my journey in the martial arts. Notice the sign "Try-Outs"... I was in fifth grade trying out for a musical and it was in front of everyone. I got so nervous, started crying and walked out. I built up the courage the following year and got a small part.... I was a clown who did magic. Currently I am a sixth grade teacher, TaeKwonDo instructor and a magician who performs at birthdays, family show, festivals, teens, adults and lots of magic camps. I see a lot of children who remind me of myself when I young and find it rewarding to be a positive role-model for them. About 3 months ago this song was playing in my math class while we were working and one of the students said, "It kind of sounds like the man singing the song feels lost in this world - I know how he feels." I then thought back to when I was his age and said, "So do I."

Thats exactly what I was thinking.
