Turn one on for 10 mins Turn it off Turn a seoncd one on Go to the lights If it lights up, it's the second one (obviously) If it feels warm, it's the first one. If it's neither it's the third switch I've heard this one before :P

I dunno if christmas lights can get that warm...

You could also use the circuit breaker, but Fatalace is right.

Smoke and Mirrors. Mirrors strategically placed around the house to reflect the image of the tree down to the switches and smoke....well, probably created from the very cheap Christmas lights I purchased at the dollar store. Haha. Happy Holidays to all -Bill Perkins

Well, since you don't know which one it is and there isn't a way you can know, then just flip them all off! MUHAHAHA! Just kidding. FatalAce beat me to my thought of answer. Peace! Tyler

My guess was already made by FatalAce. But I have a question for you, Mr. McKenzie. Why on earth would there be two extra switches that do nothing? And if you say they do infact do something, then I have another guess for the riddle...

There is no Christmas tree...

Fatal Ace's answer is very smart.

Turn 1 switch on for a while and turn it back off. Turn another switch on and leave it on. Go to the tree. If the bulb is on, it goes with the switch that you turned on and left on. If the light is off and warm, it goes with the switch that you turned on and off. If the bulb is off and cold, it goes with the switch that you didn't touch. Correct? =) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
