well isn't this the reason we are into magic, imagine if everyone perform the same trick the same way, i love the way u did it.....the best ambitious routine done in ages.....thats was so "you" it was not blaine-ish, garciaesque, nor sankey-like, it was totally "you"....its just like singing a song the same way, most artist would never be who they are....it was damn near perfect to me........
Too many passes! With fallen it should look like you are tilting the deck downward. We should NOT be able to tell that you are lifting the top card at all! It should look as though you are just applying pressure with a little rub.
And like others have said, relax. Loosen your grip and get rid of some of that tension.
And sorry to be harsh but your patter could put someone to sleep. If you sound borred then that's the effect your magic will have.
Cheers and keep working at it!
i liked the "Idea" Of The Pass, But Not 4 Times... Twice At Most. And Work On The Pas A Little Bit. Also It Seems Like Stalling When You Do The Pass 4x's.
I would have to agree. I use the pass whenever I control a card (short of my ambitious card routine and a few exceptions). The pass is your best friend. But only for an artist. What I mean by that is only if your willing to dedicate yourself to it. Your pass is..... lets just say not good. So I wouldn't advise using it until you have gotten it fluid and nearer to perfection. Also, in an ambtious card routine, your whole empahsis is on how cleanly you can control the card. I have pretty much practiced the pass for at least an hour a day (in class) since I learned it. That was three and a half years ago. It is still not perfect (obviously). Yet still I would never think of using it in a ACR. The pass is supposed to be coupled with misdirection, not used under fire.
Let me explain what was going on in this video. There is no patter. and you are supposed to somewhat see the pass. I was in front of my camera working on some different effects and decided to tape this. I was making up a routine as i went along. so forgive the lack of patter and smoothness. this was on the fly and somewhat on the spot in my case. i'll work on getting another video on here with some legit patter and presentation.
im not trying to make excuses of why it isnt good or the patter is weak. but i will consider your comments.
thank you
Your pass, both classic and dribble, is absolutely terrible.
It should be near invisible, a casual move, not something that you draw attention to.
Your performing style is too stiff, and your patter is incredibly boring.
Work on your pass a LOT more before you perform it for people. If you feel like you can't do anything about it, PM me and I'll make a video tutorial giving advice/tips.
Be fluid.
Cheers,
Ben
Yea, I agree completely with benjamind. also for the first move, try a marlo tilt instead. it's a lot more fluid than the dan and dave move, because it makes the **** lifts easier and allows the spectator to actually hold and sign the card. just be casual and practice performing in front of people--friends family strangers. have FUN with it. the audience can feel your nervousness. Relax. then your patter will get more fluid. for an example of a good patter try looking up tommy wonder's ambitious card on youtube.
Best of luck
yea actually i just decided to do this real quick. then i was like. i'll submit it to see if it'll get put up lol.
yea usually i have better patter but i was like real tired lol
also i just wanted to do something with a pass
but thanks!
liked the idea of Fallen... :) though the performance kinda bored me out abit- i think it was the patter, not the performance.... loved the trick ;) 4/5 from me :)
