Hi there, Just for the record Shawn didn't see any guy from Mexico do this move. He saw a street magician from South Africa by the name of Andrew Eland do this way back in 1993 in Vancouver, BC. Andrew was a magician who worked under the name "magic man" and he was outstanding. Shawn's first real performance of this was probably at FISM 2003 in Holland which is almost a decade after Andrew, when Shawn had heard Andrew was no longer doing magic as was running a night club in JoBerg... as for the Mexican magician ... what's his name? Shawn calls it the "card trick that sucks" but take no credit for creating it. Shawn does use a different method to flick the card ... something he also didn't create and does not take credit for ... just for the record. Cheers,

i personally think this is a great little opener and sure to catch people's attentions however i disagree with some of the comments in here. i definitely dont think that he should ask "do you like it?" after the trick b/c even though he could add in the little pun whenever you ask "do you like it?" it takes away from your confidence in the trick and creates a sense of doubt that you might not actually have. other than that i think it was really funny but i totally agree that the music is way too loud and annoying.

Rmana- funny you mention the music- while this was first posted i was editing the video in iMovie to tone down the music. I didnt realize how loud it was. The reason for the music in the first place was because the sound of the heater in the room. haha I definitely don't use this patter. This video was more for showcasing the move because it's slightly our of the ordinary haha Mikael- I didn't accidentally invent it. I saw someone in high school do it and practiced quite a bit to be able to do it. I've thought of putting it in an ACR it just doesnt fit my ACR so i use it as an opener.

Hey, big guy ^^ Liked the idea ,I bet you made it accidentally, I invent them accidentaly ,but I am too lazy to film them and post'em all here,,,, You just SUCKED it :)) So, it was good ,but would be better into a ACR

Really cool, but I think you could make it better with different patter maybe, but the actual trick is cool... Also, I didn't like the music too much. It was really loud and kind of took away from the performance. Just my thoughts, but I really like the move.

after the trick you can say "did you like that trick?" They always respond with "yes". Then you say back "well I think it sucks" Its a nice little pun you can throw in at the end.

Thanks for all the criticisms, I truly mean that. I certainly don't mean to take credit for this at all and glad Morgician pointed the gentleman out. I just had no idea where to start to look for credit. A performer in high school showed me and I completely forget his name. I never thought I would get it. About the timing, I definitely hear that. I usually don't use my pass as you can tell it isn't good at all. Once again thanks for everything guys but most of all thanks to Shawn Farquhar!

Dude I loved it. I've been working on something similar. I don't claim to have invented it, because I'm sure there have been tons of people who have and even who do it. But I've been working on a hotshot revelation in the mouth. Its so nice looking when I catch it, but otherwise it looks like crap. Once again, great job!

This idea was originally created from a magician in Mexico - Shawn Farquhar then started doing it - I have been doing it in shows for about 4 years now...but that isn't the point, I just wanted to make sure that the right guy gets credit for the idea. Comments on the performance - it is odd that you looked so guilty trying to time your pass under "misdirection"...but then casually played with the cards, with no misdirection. You could "play with the cards" and use that as your timing for the pass. There are other issues - but you did the basics well. In other words - way to suck...that card.

yeah, Morgician beat me to it. I was gonna mention shawn's presentation on this idea. ive tried a few times and i just dont suck enough. pun intended. Good work on actually being able to hold it though i know its not easy. Only thing i might mention is adding more to it. Shawn uses it in a series of similar to an ambitious card.

I liked it. =] thought you was gonna bite the card as it flicks down. Your method is more effective.

Lol, me and you were discussing this at Sushi after Modern Magic the other night. Great to finally see it performed. And loved the patter in the beginning.

LOL. It would be great if you whipped a rabbit out of your nose and then ate a horse whilst you were flicking the card. Maybe you could throw in some break dancing, and then some gymnastics. In fact if you seduced a harim of virgin maidens whilst performing that trick just after you ate the horse that would be perfect for me. I'm just kidding. Seriously this was a neat little trick and probably a good opener to an act to get people's attention. I liked it.

I thought flick to mouth sounded sweet but was a bit let down about the overall reveal. Nice concept though, It would be better if you were finding all the aces or something, So while theyr looking at the card in the air, you whip out the four aces on the deck or something likewise. 4/5
