Thats actually one of the most basic effects in card magic, its taught (minus the ECM flourishing), its taught on Ammar's first amazing secerts of card magic.
By the way is there really that many tricks that are completely original? NO...we(today) are creating mostly variations and applications from older magic. So let him live
