A friend of mine has been commisioned to write a book on Rogers lifes work I am currently helping with that process. Roger passed away a few years ago when I met him about 5 years ago I thought I knew card magic but I knew nothing. Roger rode the hell out of me about my emsley count and other sleights. Much to say I am 10 times better now I put real thought into the elegance of my magic now. He will be missed RIP Roger. I'll get you guys the info when the book is complete.
Much props my friend I knew Roger dearly and he was a good friend as well as mentor to all of us that knew him. Nice to see the respect in his memory good job. Thanks!
I thought the execution was quite good, but, as people have mentioned, there were a few flashes. Also, this routine just didn't really do it for me. I think Giobbi said that misplaced surprise can leave spectators confused, and for me, I just felt this whole thing was a bit unjustified. Perhaps you have patter which enhances this aspect of the trick; but I was left feeling a bit overwhelmed, and I didn't get to really appreciate any of the individual effects, not to mention the thing as a whole. One example of this, was when you placed the Ace Of Clubs the opposite way to the rest of the cards, which, to my mind, just didn't make sense. Having said that, the ideas therein were fantastic, as was the visual nature of the routine; without some sort of justification though, I didn't feel like spectators would feel any level of emotional connection with the piece. 3/5 :)
Oh, I forgot to say one more thing. The handling of turining the Ace of Clubs at first is not mine.

BUT, AS A CREATOR, i like to create self?satisfaction, complecated, hard to describe tricks.
Thinks of computer programs. You know that there're beginner version, intermadiate version and professional version in Movie Editing softwares.
This trick (Twisted) is a kind of intermadiate version, should be performed only for magicians.
okay, first of all, I have to say that this trick is JUST FOR MAGICIANS.
I agree with your thought that tricks which make spectators (laymen) confused are not good.
Actually, I like to perform simple, clear, fun to see tricks for layman AS A PERFORMER.
I know self?satisfaction tricks don't make layman happy. We (performer) should choose tricks that'll make spectators happy depending on who they are (lady, gentleman)
i have to say one thing... some of my friend creates much more incredible tricks.
their name are Kiyoshi Sato and Yasuhiro Endo, Tomo Yuki who are very famous magic creators in Japan.
since i have been doing magic for only two and a half years, i have to absorb/learn/earn many things...
but, i hope someday, i could release some of my tricks in some way.
