You should have milked it alot more. When I perform it, I have them make the selection. Then I have them put it in the deck and I put it away (I do this because i think it catches them off guard a little bit and it kind of lets them know that this isnt just a card trick). Then I ask them to look in my eyes and tell them to try not to blink. I ask them to see their card in my eyes. I start flicking the water without breaking eye contact with the spectator. If it is a group usually the other spectators see what is happening first and when it is done, I break eye contact for the first time and we look at it together for the first time. I really like the look of this effect when it is done by flicking SMALL drops of water- the selection slowly reveals itself. Props for going out and performing!!!
