The video delivers what it claims. It's a video that is about a close up pad. A very beautiful one at that. However, as usual with my reviews, my arguments are against the other things cluttering the frame. Why candels? Why that black book? The candels I can understand. Victorian, gothic, mysterious, white/black, good/evil, color and contrast. Check. But they don't really add anything to the scene. If you take them away, your attention is more focused on the pad, which is what you're going for. If you were actually doing a victorian or classy card effect USING the pad, then the candels might improve the atmosphere but as is, too much clutter. Focus on your subjet. The book... has no purpose there for it shouldn't be there. The entire time I'm expecting you to at any minute open up the book and produce a vanished card from that deck. Something, anything! If you aren't going to use a prop that is in frame, then don't have a prop in frame. Bad theater. This is a personal gripe of mine but I think if you are going to do a magic video you should never use camera stop/start cuts like the way you did when the deck appeared. I think it doesn't feel right in a magic video. There are so many other options to make a deck appear, or anything else for that matter without resorting to cheesy camera tricks. Also, again just me, but I think the video took 2:11 seconds to say something that could have been done in :30 seconds to a minute. Nice music though. Fits very well with the image your going for. Over all this video left me kindof like meh. I'm not drooling, clawing out of my seat to find out where I can get a pad like this, but I'm also not disinterested either. I give it a 3.
The creator of the video even described it as "An elegant video I made - featuring the Victorian Close-Up Pad." What were you expecting?? It was a cool video featuring the close up pad.
so what was the point? to show off a close up pad?
nice pad but i wasnt impressed by anything. i was waiting for something cool to happen, but never did.
too many camera shot changes and quick transitions.
