I think you need audience management. During the transpo, they actually looked at the cards in their hands, hence why they weren't too amazed.

yusuke09, I disagree. Mac King did a great card effect on stage and it played out awesome. I think as long as you have the right presentation for it, then you're set.

Try to not narrate your moves as much. It overproves the situation. For example, "I'm just going run through the deck and take that card out." We can SEE that you're doing that, there's no need to tell us. And then another thing you said was, "Let's try something else; same deck, same everything." The deck never went out of view, and a switch is not even suspected. It just isn't needed. Same thing with "I have here a new deck of cards here, bicycle, factory sealed. What I'm actually going to do is rip this open." Okay, we se that. Good performance overall! Just remember actions speak louder than words.

tell your jokes with more confidence and they will be more funny. also when you get your applouse you look a little scarred and you spring the cards becous you don't really know what to do. have more confidence with your jokes, put more power into your words and don't be scarred of your aplouse enjoy it, you deserve it! Good job!

Mikk gives some great points above - I really like the last trick, it's similar to something I used to do with a magazine a few years back, it can absolutely KILL and you got a great applause! How to turn it into a standing O? Simply look at your scripting and the focal points, you obv have all your moves down and the way you had the spectators created a really nice frame, you just need to work on scripting :) I won't bother re-addressing what Mikk mentioned re allowing the 'props' to breathe and SUGGESTING that they are normal without necessarily saying that's the case and just writing out and practicing your script, less is more the majority of the time, keep it natural, keep it real and you'll see a massive difference and enjoy yourself EVEN MORE! hey nice performance. i'm just thinking, if you're on stage i think it will be much better if you avoid card trick reason being the card is too small for all the audience to see. if really needed i would recommand jumbo cards.

Totally agree with madman. Also, I know you may not think this is crucial, but you use too many filler words. Ahhhh, umm. There were about 40 of these words that you don't need and if you just got rid of them all you would sound a hell of a lot more professional. I know it was only a talent show, but you can learn from it. Your reveal at the end would have been better if the specs read off the prediction* card, but I still thought it was a good performance. Nice job and looking forward to seeing more.

Great job just a few things. Give out your commands so the people you are doing it to understand completely! The girl looked at the card and probably that took away the astonishment. Also, don't use the phrase this is a normal deck(i can't make you not say it but), that takes the focus to the deck and what happens to every card in it. Which you actually don't want, an alternative to it is to let them shuffle the deck which does the same thing but you are not actually saying it. Why was the Da Vinci thing needed? A simple "this is Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code, have you read it?" would have worked good and then moving straight onto the "Okay im going to read a passage"(probably misspelt it have no idea what that means :) but you get the point). Far more simple and does not make a fuss of the book, you want to get the heat off it and put the heat on your performance. The new deck part was a let off, id do it this way, This is a new deck of playing cards /im going to open it up/-(i wrote this at first but as mayniac said do not say what you are doing, and thus i would not say this) *braking the seal part here* and debox it and give it to one of the spectators and say look through it and there should be a card that has something written on it, if you find it take it out of the deck but don't say anything yet, ask the spec to name the word and then ask the other spec holding the card to read whats on the card. Makes a higher impact because the deck is not in your hands which makes it more astonishing and takes the focus off the cards and placing the fact that the spectator handled the cards into the specs minds.
