I remember watching TV a saturday and in TV there was a magician performing this same effect in "Sabado Gigante". The method got totally exposed (you could see a little blood and the shiny little method) and now all of Chile make fun of it :( Still and awesome efffect. Just an Anatomy class, you can do it in the right side and say is your intestine but not your stomach, the stomach is on the LEFT side of the body, BUT! you can say intestine in both of the sides :)

I think it's pretty inapropriate to perform that effect for an audience in a stand up show like that. It looked kind of high class and by exposing your stomach to an audience, it doesn't send a professional vibe. You also really chopped up the end by betraying this hardcore serious effect with a comedy bit in the end. You got your point across with the tweezers to show that it's really thread so I don't think the cards are necessary

You're the first person to ever question the class of the effect. My audiences have never thought twice about it, and I've performed this for people on the street, as well as high level Hollywood parties. Honestly It's no worse than Houchin's thread. I don't think my joke takes away from the impact of the effect. Infact it does the opposite. It lets my audience know it's okay to laugh and rejoin me in reality. Otherwise you can usually hear a pin drop. I hate taking a bow to stunned silence. I don't know how often you perform this effect, but I've done it a few hundred times by now. Trust me, it's hard to see past the second row. The cards are there for visibility, and a well thought through addition. And they are Hemostats, not tweezers. They are there so the audience has a sterile something to hold onto.
