Liked the concept, but I got really confused about Jesse's performance. He was very worried about flashing. This effect can be accomplished a lot more confidently, particularly if performed by a card guy. Jesse does not seem a card guy, unfortunately.

I do not understand the trick.
Like what is the... logic in it?
You pick a 5, we find a 10, we rip it in half and we have the 5 again.
I get why it is a trick and I get what it is saying but... if I was a laymen, I would find it amazing but very... confusing. It might just be the way he presented it though. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing like... like he expected the 5 and the 10, thus making it look very awkward...
I understand what you mean, but I still like the idea very much. Anyways, I will try to think of a clear and logical way of performing this for someone. That's part of the challenge with a lot of effects for me at least.

but to me it just seems a bit... off
I can't put my finger on it but I just don't like the way this feels as an audience member.
Ah well....
There is just one problem with this trick. When you tear the card and show, that is 10 of hearts.
You turn the card and it changed, but if somebody is watch the trick carefully he can realise that the showed 10 of hearts sign isn't on the right other corner, and when you turn, it' seems, not just the card chaged, but the signs are changed their positions.
ok, its a nice concept but am i the only one that noticed the obvious flashes and sort of un-confident presentation? Like there is a clear flash at the end reveal, and the first double turn over looked REAAL dirty, the second looked like he was real nervous about flashing. The trick has a great concept just wasn't the level of precision and professionalism i'm used to with T11
I know what he means. I can see them too. I mean, i'm not worried about the flashes, most of us know what's going on anyway so they just don't really matter. Least that's how I see it.
I don't do TnR effects at the moment, but i'm always fascinated when I see one. I love it. The little convincer when he's ripping it is a beautiful thing that would leave most lay-individuals fried.
Although you are correct that a simple effect like this needs no noticeable sleights, I don't see any flashes at all - and I'm watching the FULL resolution, high definition version on my computer. I'm sure that if watched frame by frame you may notice something or other, but that is true of magic in general. This effect is simple, convincing, and the type of thing that spectators love to watch.
