I was skeptical that the "Wire" was going to revolutionize the magic industry as stated. But, I sit in my boxer shorts under the dim glow of my fluorescent light corrected. Phenom idea and can't imagine how many hours, days, months, years it took to make it finally materialize. Kudos to you T11'ers. That being said, although in its infant stages, we just come back to a store for magic tricks. Kardistry posts free how to's. The Magic Session is totally free where you can chat and video conference with talent around the globe and much more.. But, to be able to post ones own material in a professional place, whomever you are, is unprecedented and friggin' sweet for sure. So SICK of YouTube vids and the majority of crap therein. I like that these are screened for originality by Pros. To be able to set your own price as well is awesome. All that being said, my overall impression is that I'm writing way too damn much to say that I'm going to be using my web browser's refresh button like a space monkey on methamphetamines to hopefully see new material being produced every day on Theory11's "the Wire." Crack sellers' philosophy: give em a free taste and they'll be buyers for life. Will be exciting to see future big talent that can and WILL emerge from this platform. Now, thanks to Andrei and Mathieu I'm on to my free first tastes.... Discover card will be heating up very soon I'm sure (eh hem, i.e. Patrick Kun)!
The Wire should be attached to the balloon in that trick rep Air, wow, that dude has some obvious Calen Morelli talent. Cough. (unobvious plug for that trick) Cough. By the way, i want to stress that this is not Michael Kent. (scoff) i don't know what would even give you that idea.
(nervous laugh) ha ha.
What i think about the Wire is: (Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?)
No, really I think its an oppertunity for magicians all around the world to share there thought an ideas, really like it.
As cool as this idea is...I was hoping for a new video chatting place...
How much for the peanut butter and honey sandwich and can I get that over night? :)
To me, I personally think that the Wire will take Theory11 to the top. It will also create new and undiscovered effects by magicians that live around the world.
I really like the idea. This wire thing is so cool. But I don't like 1 thing in it.We get only the 60% of the fee?So If I would create a colour change and it would be for 3 bucks then I would get 1,8$ out of it?I know that you paid money for creating the wire but I think it will be popular so I would be happy if we would get 70 or 80% from the fee.
I don't know what others think about this thing, this is just my idea...
Btw. I really like the idea!
Ok, I know these thins and I'm grateful for it.I really like it.I just wrote my thoughts down.I didn't mean that this wire is soooooooooooo bad or something like that.I wanted to publish my creations and I hope that know I would have the opportunity for this.
Well, look at it this way, theory11 is a business, and the business takes a good bit of the profit for the following reasons, #1. Theory11 is doing the advertising for your effect, saving you hundreds, to thousands of dollars in advertising costs. #2. You can make your own price, it doesn't have to be $3 dollars for your effect, and if you think your effect is only worth $3 dollars in the first place, maybe you should re-think positing the trick, or get a higher level of self-esteem. and #3. You should be grateful that they are even giving you the opportunity to post your color change (which I doubt you have) in the first place. Lesson and moral of #3 DON'T BE GREEDY!
my big question is about gimmicks. What do you do if you're effect has a gimmick that people for whatever reason can't build at home?
here is my proposal:
(no Zach, I don't want to marry you)
I think that it would be fantastical if t11 had a warehouse to keep people's gimmicks for effects sold on 'the wire'. The gimmicks will be sent by the creator to t11, once the gimmicks are inspected and approved, the effect will be published on the wire. However many gimmicks are in stock is how many can be bought, once the gimmicks are sold out, you won't be able to purchase the effect but it will still be visible on the wire. If the gimmicks are faulty, poorly made, or don't accomplish the described effect, they should be sent back to the creator and the effect obviously not published.
whaddaya think?
Only time will tell - we clearly won't be approving effects that only consist of a double lift and a turnover pass called "Insane Transpo 2.0" - there are still standards we set :)
The Wire is an interesting idea. I'm not sure how not having a filter on quality will be, but it gives everyone a chance. I'm sure it will be a huge incentive for creativity in magic.
