You still haven't incorporated that great line I told you yet?....

"is this the dollar you gave me? *yes* " then you put it in your pocket and walk away.....And that "this is illegal so I have to change it back" line is bad....

You are performing to adults ...they don't buy that line for a second....Just tell them "let me see that"...and then proceed to change it back....

Alright.... So I sat through most of your series to try and get what I could out of everything you put out, and this is my thoughts on them as a whole (because I assume that is the only reason you are posting them is so that you can know what we, your fellow magicians that hang in the theory11 forums, think of your work). This is to include all the other videos you quickly lashed out because i don't want to jump from topic to topic.

My biggest question for you would be, what is it that you are going for??? Are you just a guy that pulls out a bunch of tricks with a deck of cards and other various objects, or are you striving to be a master of illusions??? Aaron Fisher went deep into the difference of just doing tricks and making your sleights a thing of beauty during his "online lecture" at the magic session. Granted, you clean up well, your sleights are there. It overall appears that you can pull these things off. And if you want to be one of those that goes around fooling others, hat off, you are there. It doesn't take that much to get there, so you have arrived. But do you want to be one of those that shines, that makes people think, that "mysterious things" happen while he is around? If so, you have a lot of work to do (And I am not trying to put down your style, because guess what? I am not that much better than you, the difference is that I can't stand just walking around and fooling people.) Here are some quick tips if that is where you want to go:
1. Interaction with your participants... Give them a reason for being there, and not just to "see some cool tricks." Talk with them, tell them stories, make them feel apart of what you are doing. And having them pick a card is not participating, just in case you haven't figured out. The truth of it is, you really shouldn't do more than three, but most the times two, "pick-a-card" effects in one given situation. But back to the main topic, interact with them! I could go on and on about that, but I am sure you already know how you can do that better, just do it.
2. Be more confident with your effects. Granted, it is always nerve racking with certain things. But here is a saying I hear all the time: Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. If you were just to relax a bit and go with it more, your performance would be way better.
3. Work on your transitions. The move from one effect to another was hard, and so all the effects seemed to blend together with no purpose at all. There was to start or finish, it was just one giant "look what I can do" routine.
I will be honest, I think I spent way too much time dissecting these videos, mainly because I like to see what others are working on. You are doing fine, and I am sure that as you continue to work on it, you will get better. If you have any questions about what I just said, feel free to PM me because I am always willing to help.

Thanks a bunch for the feeback! yeah in most of these videos I was performing for people who had never seen me do magic before but knew me as "that magic guy" and wanted to see if I was good as they were told (I got to a fairly small school so word travels fast about everyone). I was speaking to a friend of mine on another site and he mentioned the same thing about interacting more with the audience on a personal level. I'm relatively new to magic (been performing for a little bit over a year) so I'm still trying to get everything down. I have prob 2 or more so videos left from this crowd that I will upload soon but I will try and connect with them more next time I film. I have a gig in October where I will be busking for charity so I'm hoping that might help me out

Thanks for the feedback and I hope you at least enjoyed the videos =]

I wouldn't have watched them if I didn't enjoy them. Watching others helps me figure more and more stuff about my own act, so, thank you for posting

I agree.

The line isn't flying and it makes you sound kind of goody-two-shoes.

Just say, "Watch, I'll do it again too" and take it back. They don't know what that means--are you going to make it into 8ths? They don't have time to realize what that line means before it's out of their hand. All they know at that moment is that if they hand it back to you they get to see "it" again and have another chance to see what you're doing.

If they ask to keep it you don't need to use the law as an excuse, just say something vague like, "I can't leave it that way. They might start to take notice."

The only thing I'll add, because it's something you can fix right now, is that you have the "guilty magician sway" where you sway back and forth with nervous energy when you're doing the dirty work. That's easy to fix though--next time you perform just make yourself plant your feet and deal with the nerves and force yourself not too sway.

Other than that I'd say for someone who has been performing a little over a year you're doing a great job. All the other things to improve on will come as long as you just keep doing what you're doing, so keep up the good work, my friend!

Thanks for your feedback... the reason I actually use that line is because of a couple of comments I have received from spectators in the past. I did this for a few people and they asked me if this was illegal, at the time I had been using the line "let me try it again". However because a spec asked if it was illegal I decided to use that line instead.

Thanks for the tip about that sway... didn't even notice it! I'm kind of an antsy person by nature so I think do that regardless of it I'm nervous or not haha

Thanks for your feedback!

If you wouldn't mind check out my other videos and please let me know what you think!
