    Looking for a mentor.

Hey Mike, My advice is that you don't need a mentor. You've got seven years of magic under your belt. You've learned a lot. I think you need to go out and find gigs to perform at. Take a chance and roll the dice!

What do we expect our spectators to believe?

First rule of magic, always be the smartest guy in the room. -Jay Daniel Atlas (Now You See Me) Yes, of course you want them to believe what you are doing is real. If you see it as immoral, I think you're in the wrong profession.

    Lets Bring It Back!

Rick, Long time! Yeah, I actually was talking to Chris earlier today. Haven't spoken to any of my T11 buddies is quite some time now. Shoot me a text/email when you're not busy. I'd tell you to call, but right now I can't speak at all due to mono. I have some gig stories to tell you.

    Lets Bring It Back!

Not a bad idea. I remember when Justin Miller hosted chats. Met a lot of interesting magicians. I'd be up for this in the future.

    Good trick with...

Well, you can probably do an easy trick where the spectator's chosen card ends up under the empty box. Then just do a switch after leaving them with the normal two of spades. Use your imagination and see what else you can come up with.

I'll be on Reality TV soon...

Good to hear William! That's awesome! Congrats! I'm sure you will come up with something great. A nail writer can work wonders. Just don't do anything you're not ready for. A lot of magicians will use this as a test to push their limits and perform something outside their norm. Perform...

Why should we bother learning the history of magic

As a film major, I support this 100%.

    It Happened Tonight! Be Ready...

Rick, Sounds like you handled that situation professionally. Unfortunate things like this happen every now and then and are sometimes unavoidable. After apologizing, there's nothing more you can do but move forward from it and hope they know you we're sincere. 20 minutes of magic at 1 table...

    Manipulation Gloves?

Oh, I just thought that some magic firm would have already manufactured and distributed these, being that they are such an old apparatus for magicians; such as wands. Thanks anyway though.

    Manipulation Gloves?

Does anyone know of a place I can buy manipulation gloves. I've searched, but they've seem to have gone out of style. Any information would be grateful.

    Recent Strolling Gig

Lol, funny you mentioned that. We were hired as a group; more like a business. However it was simply coincidental that we showed up matching. Only difference was he had a jacket, and I had a vest. But in the future, we're going to all wear the same color. It makes us look professional and just...

    Recent Strolling Gig

I was requested to perform some strolling magic at the Brookhaven Amphitheater on Long Island, NY. There were hundreds of people that attended for a festival/firework show that TFCU do every year. They hired me, my balloon artist, and my face painter for two hours each. It was great and...

    Wayne Houchin - Breaking Magic

Looks cool. I just hope they don't expose anything.

How long should a children's show be?

An hour for kids is perfectly fine. Depending on their age group, you might want to cut it down to forty-five minutes. Then possibly do fifteen to twenty minutes of balloons. Regarding what to charge, it's pretty much what you think you're worth and what the client is willing to pay. If you're...
