    Buying Bicycle cards

If you purchased from bicylcecards.com then they are fine. Your first post said you bought them off of ebay.

    Buying Bicycle cards

You probably won't be able to tell very well until you see how they handle and feel. I would highly recommend purchasing Bicycles cards at Walmart, Sam's Club or Costco's. You can get them for just a tad over a $1.00 a deck.

Draven Reviews: Senses by Christopher Wiehl

Very nice review Draven. Chris has put a ton of work into this and it shows. I'm looking forward to putting some work into this as well. I'll have a few additional ideas to share after I've worked through them a bit. The visualness and audible sound of coin are very powerful. I applaud Chris for...

    Imagination Coins by Garrett Thomas

I believe there is a UK version as well available. I saw the demo and it does look great however I also know that Garrett is a master coin magician so keeping that in mind: master coin magician + sweet gimmick = mind blowing effect. My equation: horrible coin magician + sweet gimmick =...

    extreme burn 2.0 gimmick

I would try contacting Richard Sanders personally. My guess is he probably has a big stock of them at his house.

    How to stop magic piracy?

Shipping on those Craig would cost a fortune I am guessing. I hand loaded 5 boxes of Genii, Apocalypse, and some other periodicals from our last magic auction that I purchased and the boxes were definitely about 40 pounds each if not more. What I have been doing as I work through them is, I rip...

    Zombira: Self-Contained Floating Ball

Thanks Bizarro I wasn't sure. I have however seen two magicians use The Thing as stage pieces. I think Bill primarily had it playing for small venues or even in living rooms for children's parties and such. I own The Thing but unfortunately I have not put in the required practice to make it...

    Close-up pad!

Ha Ha. That was a good one Formula. And no I would expect most people to use the carrying case that comes with the Tony Clark Vintage pad. Is the base on that a flexible leather btw or is it solid? I can't believe home much Dan and Dave charge for some of those pads. My dad is a wood shop...

    Close-up pad!

Depending on how large and thick it is...you can roll it and put it in a poster / mailing tube or a piece of PVC plastic pipe or just put it in a tablet sleeve case as mentioned if you don't want to roll it. It all depends what your close up pad is made out of and what the base of it is like...

    Silks

Bob Sander's DoveLite Silks are outstanding. I'll see if I can track down a website. I have purchased all of mine from him personally when he comes to my town for our convention. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=247490&forum=54

    Performing for a Birthday

Okay, I think you have a great start and some good things going for you. I definitely like how you have already planned a nice corner spot to cover your angles. I would use a small close up table and pad or if you don't have one, for now use a TV dinner tray and put your close up pad on that...

    Performing for a Birthday

What age group will you be performing for....21 and over I can assume? Is your performance an actual show where everyone will be seated or standing watching you at a table? Are you just walking around and performing for whoever decides to watch? This definitely changes some of the effects...

    Gaffed Tricks

To me I enjoy using gaffed cards like the old style flapper gimmick that changes the middle card in monte routine. I like gaffed cards like the ones in Bannons Twisted Sisters. Ones that "we" know are gaffed but the spectator has no clue. Now, cards that look completely unrealistic to the...

    Zombira: Self-Contained Floating Ball

This reminds me and looks a bit similar to Bill Abbott's The Thing which was released a few years ago. The only difference looks like Jimmy has taken away the cloth. I could be completely wrong but I'm guessing the hook up is virtually similar.

Anyone else get really slow shipping?

Magifest is actually a great convention. I would definitely go back. Josh Jay and Andy Gladwin have done a super job bringing it back to life. Who knows...the weather could be fine by then. http://www.magifest.org/

Bounce / No Bounce Ball Routine?

Thank you. I may contact him to see what all it entails.

Anyone else get really slow shipping?

Guys I can't speak for everyone, but I believe it definitely has a lot to do with the weather right now in Ohio and nearby states. I ordered a Diesel watch two weeks ( I know...not magic related but a cool watch nonetheless ) ago and contacted the company and they tracked it down and said it is...

Bounce / No Bounce Ball Routine?

Does anyone have any video / DVD recommendations for the bounce / no bounce balls? I vaguely remember seeing Gregory Wilson do a funny bit and I remember him "hiding" one at times under the arm pit but I would love to hear if you guys know of other resources or bits out there using these as they...

    The Dreaded Click Deck

Farrow shuffle the cards over and over again, however do it with cards alternating in opposite directions. Yes, it will look like a triumph mess / routine, but keep doing it and the click will go away after about 10 of them. Obviously you will then need to put the cards back facing all the same...

If you were starting over again...

Randy and Craig are most definitely correct in that a mentor, ( a good mentor ) can help you attain growth very rapidly if you are willing to put in the time and effort commitment. My mentor charged $40.00 for an hour and a half lesson. Sometimes that only entailed coming home having learned one...
