I remember reading the Witness newsletter and an idea someone contributed was by using a tear in the card. In other words, the joker is shown, held in spectators hands, the card is selected, a tear was made in the corner, and joker in the bag changed to their card, with the tear [in the same spot]!

Lol, same here! I was too gullible by falling into all the hype. Also, one more question about the 'Intercessor'...does it matter how big the spectator tears off the corner, or do they still have total control of how big or small they want to tear it?

Why know? Honestly, why? You said you were fascinated by it, so why ruin the magic? I know that everyone gets curious as to how something is done sometimes, but when you know, you ruin that entire experience. Let it be for what it is.
