    Structuring a close up act

Heya, I have had some trouble with structuring the patter and such for a new close up act. I was just wondering if anyone had some tips on having the patter and general themes of the routine go together. Anything can help.

    Orbit Control

I use the Orbit control numerous times in my close up show and it is great for an ACR routine. I use it all the time and have been using it for a long time. Mine is invisible so I'm sure with practice you will have a great time using this killer slight. TIP: It is that type of slight where you...

Do you do magic at school?

I do magic at school for a few reasons. 1) Because I can try new stuff out on my friends that know I do magic and stuff 2) I am currently teaching my Geometry teacher card tricks because he wants to get past the one trick that he knows. Surprisingly it is a pretty decent eardnase color change. I...

    A Fun Performance.

That is so awesome man. Good job, with me it is a bit different. I don't perform when I have a sub. I try not to perform a little right now because for the last week in the class that I TA in…Yes, TA as in Teacher's Assistant… the teacher has me perform every day for her senior class. At least I...

A phase we all go through?

Heya, a lot of magicians sometimes go through this phase, or at least I have at one time or another. For me it is generally rekindled when I submerse myself in the magic community. For instance I go to the magic castle every weekend and therefore I am able to see new things. If there is a magic...

    Do you carry cards everywhere?

Randy, did you notice that I put the words "I feel" in front of what I said. I am speaking for only myself. Not for you. I realize I also included the word "we" however I am speaking only for myself. I feel that my job is to make people happy and entertain people. I am sorry that you don't...

    Do you carry cards everywhere?

PLEASE SAY THAT IS SARCASM. I feel that it is our duty as magicians to entertain, and therefore to always be prepared. I do admit sometimes I don't have cards on me however I ALWAYS have rubber bands on my wrist. I always have at least SOMETHING.

    Audience doesn't like you.

All you have to do is be a good performer. It is easier for people to like you than not like you. It is not rocket science. It is having fun and being a good performer. So what about their belief systems. In public it is considered rude to talk about religion, politics or s**. So they won't talk...

Let's See How Far We've Come

I love it. Even now I am noticing how my hands move when I am talking and not doing magic now. I love it. I feel experienced. Tricky Devil, I totally agree with you. PS: I saw a bird plane yesterday. They are real!

Let's See How Far We've Come

Heya, it's Anna Harris here. While practicing new slights today I was skype chatting with my friend and I looked at my hands in the camera and what was strange was they looked different. In the way they moved I saw that my hands were more experienced. All of this got me thinking about how far I...

The Performance Is Worth More Than The Trick Itself

The stuff above is good. I have discussed many of Ortiz's books with other magicians. Either you love books like that about theory and showmanship or you hate them. I do recommend the books listed above, especially by Silver. My advice is to be yourself. Have a good one, hope we helped. –Anna...

    Desperate Housewives sponsored by Ellusionist?

Haha, well, if there is a magician on that set they obviously don't have the chops. Haha, stupid Ellusionist. Nah, I'm just kidding, or am I? PS: This Is My Pikachu ___ (\__/) / / (ô--ô) __/ _ / {\ / \ /}/ /...

    Desperate Housewives sponsored by Ellusionist?

Yeah, that is so weird. Maybe they are not using the Ghost deck from Ellusionist but a white deck that looks the same? I don't know. Either way that is funny. I am definitely not using that deck anymore. Haha.

King of Hearts (Suicide King) I think it is a great message to convey to all of our young, troubled, teen magicians. :P
