    Andthensome in Production

IMO- no. Think of it like the Bonus Discs of the Star Wars Trilogy (1-3, not 4-6). Just something extra, but doesn't make it a "not-trilogy".

    Thread Review

He was reviewing the content of the trick and the DVD- you don't need to perform things several times to write a good review. I've written several reviews for books (such as a huge one for RRTCM), and I'm going to tell you straight up that I haven't performed everything out of that book- I bet...

    Where can I find this?

Romeo is correct- he uses a topit for that particular version of the vanishing deck. I actually watched it. :P

    Thread Impromptu?

I think the definition post proves me right. However, I want to clarify something- I wasn't in any way implying that Thread is a bad effect simply because it requires setup- nothing is further from the truth, by the looks of reviews I've read. I just don't think anything requiring set-up can...

    The Real Tivo 3.0

I didn't really care for the awkward loud noise, and the non-alligned cards. Definitely something to keep looking into, though. Make it quiter, and find a better way to re-allign the cards on the deck, and it'll be awesome! Thanks for sharing!

    Thread Impromptu?

So wouldn't that mean... it's not impromptu? My definition of impromptu is being able to do it on the spot, anywhere, anytime, with any prop that you need for the trick (i.e. any piece of thread, any deck of cards, any coin, etc.). If there's set-up, this doesn't match that...

I'll be sure to try it out sometime and see what I think. Thanks for the advice!

    The Weekly Debate: #4 (Revised)

Although I am what people would classify as a "geek or nerd" (I don't look like one at all, but I'm totally into technology, science... magic... pretty much all the things normally considered geeky or nerdy), I don't really come across that way, I don't think. And I certainly don't think magic...

    Magician Sues Martha Stewart

This is a little bit off topic, but I was watching Time Warp on this lovely evening, and they had this guy's invention on there called the "Saw Stop". Basically, it stops the blade of a table saw when it comes into contact with your hand- it can tell the difference between your hand and a piece...

    Truffle Shuffle

I've been gone for like a month, and I even know that there's already been discussion on this! :o It was even addressed by Derek himself, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe not directly on this forum, but I'm pretty sure somebody quoted him.

Agreed, but it does make it easier to shoot the card higher. I've tried the altered grip, and I found it uncomfortable and hard to aim, but I've seen it work for lots of people that can shoot the cards fairly high.

    Eye Cut

Just curious- where did you pull this statistic from? A survey? A research product? Your butt? The reason I'm asking is that I recently learned that 47.6541 percent of statistics are made up on the spot. All joking aside, I really am curious as to how you came up with this.

    Street Magic (kind of)

By well-known, I hope you're not talking about being well-known to laymen, because I don't know of any sleights that would be considered "well-known" to laypeople. And even if they did know of the sleight's existence, hopefully you do it well enough for them not to recognize it.

Oh, definitely. I'm definitely not a guy who really gets into the hardcore sleights or flourishing (you saw the video! :P), but I focus a lot on presentation, so I perform quite a bit (especially at school) so I can "fine-tune" my performances. I definitely have a lot to learn, but it's fun...

Hey- I just got back from a "break". Not really a magic break, but just one away from the internet aspect of it. God knows I needed one. I'll still be on, but probably a lot less frequently. Right now I'm trying to work out a short little thing I could do on stage for the end of the school...

    Long Distance Spinner

Tip 1: When starting, some people find it helpful to use a soft Thumb Tip to build up thumb strength. In fact, many people who have mastered the LDS still use the Thumb Tip. Tip 2: If not using a Thumb Tip, lick your thumb just a tiny bit, then rub it against your arm once (no more than once...
