    August 2009 :: Where Are We Going?

    Amen to that, man. On a side note, I feel it is the belief of many that the future of magic is the youth. With that in mind, what can you guys do to move magic in the direction you'd like to see it go - as you progress? What is your ideal map? No pressure. ;)

    The VCR Change

    Glad to hear your thoughts! Just a note - this move is rated at intermediate, not beginner. We never claimed it would be easy to master, as is evident in the ability level we chose to place it under. Angle sensitivity is a factor, but this is discussed at length in the 1-on-1. Certainly not a...

    NewScientist :: What's luck got to do with it?

    NewScientist posted an article earlier today on the math of gambling - an exposé on how various people (including MIT professor Edward Thorp) have used their knowledge of mathematics to understand, and beat, the odds. A notable quote from the piece: "Go into any casino with normal blackjack...

    theory11.bulletin :: THE 1-ON-1 SESSIONS - Cardistry : The Basics

    To coincide with the announcement of Andrei Jikh's epic DVD set on cardistry - GENESIS - we felt it would be fitting for this week's edition of the 1-on-1 Sessions to outline the basics of cardistry. Where exactly should you start in flourishing - and where do you go from there? As is usual, we...

    After much review by our team and panel of judges - namely Dan & Dave Buck, daniel+Madison, and Andrei Jikh - we are pleased to announce the winner of this year's Cardistry Collaboration Contest. First and foremost, however, we would like to give honorable mentions where they are due. Some of...

    Dan and Dave 1-on-1 wants.

    First and foremost, I would suggest you check out our 1-on-1 Sessions feature on The Basics (suggestions tailored specifically for beginners). If you've already mastered the aforementioned material - I would suggest starting with something like Commercial from D&D. Fairly simple when compared...

    Jacob's Ladder practice?

    I had the same issue when I first starting practicing it (didn't, obviously, want to tip the method to any friends, etc.). Easy fix - turn a stool over on it's side and use two legs as 'mock fingers'. Works like a charm.

    What have I missed?

    Well for starters, there's good news - and bad news. Good news: eXile is back in stock. Bad news: Stingers are currently out of stock - but should be available again shortly. In addition to the above, however, be sure to check out Daniel Garcia's latest release - SYMPHONY - as well as our News...

    New 1-on-1 tonight?

    In light of the release of STATIC by David Jade, there will be no 1-on-1 video tonight. Especially as a site with the mantra of "quality over quantity," overloading this industry with releases is not something we ever wish to partake in. One day at a time, one release a time. We want to make it...
