The Expert At the Card Table Help

It's a tough book to understand for sure. The beginning section is tough to get. The culling section gets pretty confusing. I wouldn't stress it too much. Keep moving through the book and somethings will become more clear. This is an in jog: This is an out jog:

    Name of a trick?

Really this is only the tip of the iceberg as well, there are a ton of versions out there.

Where can I learn this trick?

Arthur Trace is a pretty original magician. I assume that this is his own routine and is not sold. David stone provides a rose production his secrets of magic DVD. There is also the effect by Kevin James with the fire to rose effect.

    Help reviewing magic blog!

The last one happens to me all the time. It's actually usually from adults. I don't mind. I love watching magic and really try to be the best possible spectator I can be. I HATE SMUG MAGICIAN AUDIENCES! So I try to take a deep breath and pretend to be a layman anytime I watch magic. If they...

    Think-A-Drink

You do't have to use a carton, it just allows for a clean ending where you tear it up. For Harlan's and Steinmeyer's you can use a tea kettle instead of a flask or carton. I need to look at the Wakeling one, I don't think you can use a kettle with it.

    Best Deck Switch?

I used to own the cooler. I didn't like it. It was not that great for close-up situations, it really didn't look right.

    Where to sell my deck-collection?

Surplus Magic Exchange is what I use on Facebook. The Magic Cafe also has a thread devoted to selling magical things. Here on Theory11 you can post information in your signature but this forum is not for selling magic.

    Think-A-Drink

There's another more old fashioned version taught in the magic of Alan Wakeling. Jim Steinmeyer has his Think a Drink which was published in a few different places. It does require an apparatus of sorts but it is not alcoholic. I'm pretty sure you can find it in the Conjurers anthology.

    Long Sleeve Henley

I'm also curious. I have extra long ape arms. I love the shirts but I doubt they will fit. What is the sleeve length?

Who is the true expert at the card table?

Based on amount of creativity and the small portion of videoed performance Marlo is probably my Greatest of All Time. Jason England is great but he says that Steve Forte is one of the most natural card handlers alive. I differ to his judgment. Someone like Ricky Jay is incredibly entertaining...

Looking for a specific type of levitation prop

So, these types of illusions aren't great small scale. If you want something that works using their mtethods you'll have to make it up yourself most likely. I would move towards something like this: http://www.ellusionist.com/phantom_tips

    Storing all things digital

I use my Kindle Fire to store all of my eBooks along with some of my videos. These are also on my laptop and a hard drive. I like the idea of it all being on my tablet for portability sake.

    Aladdin Playing cards

All that I know is that Aladdin's are used by many cardists. I like the back design. I have heard that you can sometimes find them at Seven Eleven but I haven't had any luck.

    Naked Coin Magic!

Yeah, you know it's funny. I've been using this for about four years. It has morphed and finally it has become the effect that it is. I think the way I teach it is easier to do than most would assume. I attended a magic convention this last weekend and got jamming. We've created a fun shuttle...

    Naked Coin Magic!

I just want to clarify and I may want to change this in the ad copy. The coin is never in classic or finger palm. I just spoke with another magician, he felt that he had figured the trick out. In my view this method does everything a classic palm does but is considerably easier to do. Best...

A Full Show from Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic

I feel like this could be my new show :) There's some great stuff in this book. Here's a possible set list that I could almost see myself performing. The Six Bill Repeat pg. 228 The Great Coat Escape pg. 258 Double X Mystery pg. 38 The Sucker Torn and Restored Napkin pg. 305 Genii Saves the...

David Blaine's Torn and "Matched" Card

The effect is the same as Binary Code two but the method is different. If you are interested in performing this Rick Lax's trick is great. I haven't seen this effect performed with this method before.
