I see nothing wrong with it... It's not nearly as basic as the average business card, don't think that you need a flashy business card to be successful. I've seen a lot of very bleak business cards used and those people are doing just fine. I've been a graphics designer for roughly 10 years now...

Getting caught could be due to either or really. It depends on what the sleight is as to how I react. If I'm called out on a DL then I laugh it off and say something along the lines of "Good eye, that could have ruined the effect..." and I use a different method to get the same results.

Yes, people are actually fooled by this trick. I had it performed personally to me by a close friend of Harry Lorraines..... I was shown afterwords what was going on. I use this effect all the time.

They look like a black tiger deck. I think the only reason you think it's light blue instead of white is due to the film quality and lighting.

Magic is a wonderful way to break the ice... though performing for drunk college students is by far some of the best nights I've experienced. Simply because you could toss the card on the ground and say it's gone... they're still shocked.

I flourish in public like a mad man. It attracts people (as stated) and it's something flashy to do during casual conversation. I do nice cuts and things in between tricks/routines as well as during them just to add a bit of my own flavor to it. :D

I may have missed it..... but how was that a theory on change?
