    Questions about "Smooth Finish"

My theory is that playing cards work like a thermostat, as the cards get warm they warp because one side of the card expands while the other side remains rigid. Humidity makes this even worse. I have decks that I have used for years that still look pretty new and handle pretty well. Lyle and I...

    Shaving a deck

I use fingernail clippers for the corners. If I need a short corner of course. I haven't found any good way to shave the edge of a deck.

    What's your favorite mental trick?

Check out Theo Anneman, his books are great. Jay Sankey has Hemispheres and 22 Blows to the head, both are great. They are full of good mental magic.

The market place ( the wire ) problems?

The wait is the most painful part! the quickest turn around I have had has been for magic that was rejected. They say 72 hours but this is rarely accurate in my experience. It takes a long time, they are really trying to go for quality products and that takes time. The explanation usually is...

    Publishing of magic

It's MUCH more difficult to have a company publish your idea in place of self publishing but in my experience it is much more lucrative. I have self published on the Marketplace and Penguin and have made hundreds of dollars, maybe even over a thousand in the 5ish years these avenues have been...

    Publishing of magic

Theory 11 offers TWO ways to publish. The first is the Marketplace (Which used to be called the Wire) If you want to submit a trick to the Marketplace you must film a trailer and explanation video. If it is approved, Theory11 will publish exactly what you submitted on the Marketplace. You have...

Creating an artist account for minors?

Right now you need to include those things. Some of it is for tax information. If I were you I'd talk to your parents and tell them that you'd like to start a bank account so you can save for college. It is simple to do and only takes a few dollars to set up for most banks.

    red monarchs

I found some Monarchs at Barnes and Noble. It might have something to do with exposure. Generally regular decks don't come with gaffs like that. Some magicians might not be happy that you could get gaffs at Barnes and Noble.

Alan Rorrison has a handful of ideas on his Murphy's lecture. He has a card to wallet as well as a sandwich trick.

    Publishing of magic

No, the marketplace is an alternative way to self publish. Theory11 still accepts submissions for the main site. You go down to the bottom of any page on the site and click "Submit a Trick". Follow the instructions and put your best foot forward. Good luck!
