    Magic consulting?

Performing is the most lucrative way that a magician can get money, I would challenge anyone who would say it wasn't. I have marketed various products, and it takes a lot of work to get over a thousand dollars with one magic product. On the contrary, I can earn much more than that amount in a...

Tricks that you REFUSE to use

Maybe classic was the wrong word, I personally love the classics. I try to avoid the cliches that the public has of magicians. There are a lot of classic magicians in my area, including my mentor Richard Hatch. He does the best linking ring routine I've ever see. We perform at the same venues...

    Rapport by Ollie Mealing

The plot is closer to do as I do. Braue's Encyclopedia of magic has like 10 versions of the trick and a couple that have virtually the same effect as this. We can't talk about specific methods, but if you'd like to perform a trick like Ollie's then that's a good starting place.

Best Penguin lecture for card tricks

I've seen almost every Murphy's lecture but I really haven't seen a ton of Penguins. Joshua Jay or Alex Pandrea both had great Murphy's lectures.

Tricks that you REFUSE to use

There's a lot of magic that I wont perform because it doesn't fit my character, that doesn't mean that I'll NEVER perform it but... I try to avoid magic that is too "classic" in the public's eye. I market myself as an adult performer for weddings and such. I try to avoid linking rings, and...

BLANK You! // What the GAFF?

I love his card to wallet but I have never been able to find cheap double backers to perform with.

    Exposure or not?

I kinda feel like it is exposure. I love Jay Sankey, we have a professional relationship and he has shared some of my magic on his Inside Deception website. His magic moral compass is different than mine, I don't think of it as a character thing it's just a difference. The issue that I have...

I just looked over the prices again, that's a bit better than I remember. Thanks David

    Where to buy blank decks?

To add to the question, is there a place where you can get cards like this for $5 or under? It's extremely frustrating to purchase double backers, double facers or blank decks for routines that destroy cards for $10-30.

    System of stock shuffling

I use the Marlo 3 1/2 second stack. You only need to stack 2 cards and then you cover the other three using other artifice.

Riffle cull + Centre dealing: Cheating at cards from a borrowed deck

Riffle Culling is crazy interesting for sure. The two ways I have gone in completely without a net in cheating is after one example hand I cull the cards I need and control them to their desired location. the other way is to use Paul Harris' silly use of the Jynx switch in True Astonishments...

    Is a buffed deck gaffed?

I put "work" into most decks I perform with. I crimp certain cards, and mark others. I wouldn't call any of these decks "gaffed" or "trick decks". I'd examine why you aren't using gaffed cards and it should sort itself out. Do you want someone to be able to hand you any random deck and perform...

New to Mentalism. Looking for Experienced Advice

13 Steps is fine but I'd look at Anneman's Practical mental Effects. It's a little more accessible in my opinion.

    Your obsessions.

I love gutsy stuff and psychological forces. I love the thrill of knowing that something may go wrong as I perform and testing myself to fix any problems that arise. I'm obsessed with subtle methods as well. The kind like Vernon's Trick That Cannot be Explained. I love magic that is tough to...
