I think that there are 2 types of magic videos on youtube, 1 type is aimed at laymen, and is a well structured routine with no music just patter, such as your videos, and the other is a performance of a sleight which is made for magicians to view and give feedback on, I think this one is the latter.

It depends what you're after i'd say, some people like to do it as more of a magical production and only shoot it a small distance and then move their hands apart, but I prefer doing it as a flourish so I shoot it around half a metre and for the latter you need to hold the deck lightly and...

The catch is just practice, that may sound like a cliche but when I started I could never catch it(it used to bounce off my hand like yours), and I thought I must be doing something wrong, but now I can do it 9/10, with practice i'll get it 10/10(hopefully).

It depends, when i'm doing a routine like Tivo 2.0 I want my double lifts to look graceful so I either use the molecule dl or the Diving Board Acrobatic. If I'm doing an ACR I want a standard one so I either use a push off or the Non Acrobatic DBD.
