    Card Tricks SUCK!

Mike Vincent, a notable card guy from the UK, recently posted this article on Facebook: http://www.artsjournal.com/lies/2011/08/enough-with-the-card-tricks/ It's about a woman who frequents the magic castle and has decided that she is sick of card tricks. Oh man! This made my blood boil a...

    Help please

This seems like some sort of Bank Night routine but as everyone can see your description kinda lacks in specificity. Jay Sankey teaches a Russian roulette type routine with envelopes on Murphy's Free Trick Friday that you could check out. Joshua Jay teaches one of the simplest versions possible...

    A little advice from everyone.

The best advice I can give is to follow those who already make a living from it. Hopefully you are to the point where magic gets in the way of your "real" job to the point where you have to quit it. My favorite resources that I have seen recently were some of the Murphy's lectures in order of...

    Saturday Night Contests

The easiest way to get points is to buy stuff. You wont get a ton of points that way but you are guaranteed points. The second easiest would be to stick around for the winter contests. You can spin a wheel and win points by pure chance. You wont be guaranteed points but you can get some here...

What are the most popular Youtube Channels for Magicians?

Disturb Reality and Mismag are pretty awful when it comes to unethical exposure. I think Brian Brushwood, Jay Sankey and Rich Ferguson are better places to go to learn magic. They all have great You Tube channels.

I just purchased Control by Wayne Houchin and loved it, on the DVD he teaches a couple and references a ton of different methods for stopping your heart. I know that yogis and fakirs have been famous for holding their breath as well. Are there resources for holding your breath out there? Are...

Gambling Moves/ Techniques for table work

I agree, you want to get rid of the hesitation and pauses between legitimate and false deals. The issue of sound is something that pops up for almost everyone as well and it can be terribly difficult to make your deals sound the same.

Gambling Moves/ Techniques for table work

If you are looking for magic routines for table stuff you might check out Jason England's Murphy's lecture. He teaches Vernon's triumph, a ten card poker deal and a couple other nice effects. Foundations is great for the moves but if you are looking for routines I would go elsewhere.

Detailed Reviews of Almost Every Murphy's Lecture

I have followed Paul Draper’s magic for quite some time. I have seen him perform live on multiple occasions and have talked with him about magic. On this lecture you get to see him in a completely candid light. He is full of knowledge and in performance you can see that he is holding back. On...

    Fiber Optics Moves Problem

The tough part with some routines is that once a spectator is on to a small part of the routine you are left very vulnerable. If your brother is aware of the "thing" then you either need to sit down with him getting feedback on how you could hold it better or practice in private and show him the...
