    The Expert

Are you sure you're thinking of "The Card Magic of Le Paul"? As far as I can see it's nothing to do with Erdnase.

    The Expert

In my opinion it's one of the Holy Trinity of essential card books (Royal Road and Expert Card Technique being the other two). I have the Dover edition and a PDF version, but I'm going to get the Gambler's Book Club reprint as well so I've got a copy where my page numbers match up with the...

    Doublelift_pirouette

I think flourishy doubles can have their place, but the thinking that should go into a standard double turnover should not be underestimated. It isn't an easy thing to handle a double as casually and naturally as you would a single card. This is something I spend hours on, turning over the top...

    Wynn Playing Card Box

That design is pretty much standard for casino playing cards. Have a shop around on eBay and you'll find loads of really cheap decks with this kind of box, especially if you don't mind about the actual cards being clipped.

    Palming DVDs?

My favourite palming DVDs are Allan Ackerman's "Advanced Card Control Volume 1", Bob White's "Practical Card Palming" and John Carney's "Carney on Palming". If you want to move on from them with some more advanced stuff, then look into Ed Marlo's "Revolutionary Card Technique", specifically the...

    Alexander Popov

Yeah, I really want to see this in-the-hands card castle. Jerry Cestkowski mentions him in the EoPCF in quite disparaging terms saying that while "he certainly deserves credit for inventiveness and ambidexterity...most of the stuff he does is light-speed, low-amplitude weirdness". I think his...

    Alexander Popov

Does anyone know where I can find video of this guy performing? I've heard he blew people away with his close-up flourish act at FISM 2006, and the Bucks cite him as an influence, but I can't find footage of him anywhere. Can anyone help?

Zap by Hon Wong and Gordon Fang

Thanks very much OwnerM. I'm continually astonished at how many misconceptions there are about hypnosis. There are enough e-books, websites and forums out there...and even real books and DVDs. It's not some underground secret that only the elite inner circle know, so why do people insist on...

Zap by Hon Wong and Gordon Fang

There are loads of threads on here about hypnosis, but I thought I'd contribute my little bit of knowledge here anyway. There is no clear definition of what "hypnosis" actually is. Anyone who claims they have a definitive explanation is only going by their own experience or what they have read...

    Gimmickless Shadow Coins

It's on it's own DVD "Sh4de". And "Only Four" is on Volume 2 of the Daniel Garcia Project. They use different moves, so can be performed straight after each other if someone wants to see the trick again.

    Most skilled person

Good work on mentioning Joe Cossari (the inventor of what people call the "Jerry Fan", if anyone's interested). Also T Nelson Downs and Jean Hugard need to get credit for laying the groundwork for modern flourishing. Also, if you want to credit the inventor of what's become known as "Sybil"...

    Good mind reading effect?

I would say, technique-wise, all you need is a card force and a billet peek to acheive amazing results. However, like Sean_Raf says, the effect comes from you the performer. For example, the strongest thing I do is a mind-reading routine that I've honed and perfected over a period of over a...

    Make Me A Cheater

As has been said before, if you want DVDs, definitely go for Richard Turner's stuff. However, I'd also like to add Allan Ackerman's "Advanced Card Control" Volumes 2 and 5 (False Deals and Shuffle Work), plus Tony Giorgio's "The Real Work", which is an excellent resource for mucking. There's...

When will we be seeing more mentalism from theory11?

I reckon there are some mentalism techniques that would really fit in here. If you're a sleight-of-hand purist, like me, then I would have thought you'd find billet work fascinating and an interesting challenge, and the presentational skill required to sell the idea of mind-reading makes useful...

    Top Shot

My suggestion is to only use the very tip of your little finger to shoot the card, and extend your second and third fingers to keep them out of the way. As you develop the knack, you'll be able to close your fingers more so the technique isn't as obvious.

    Triple Shuffle

I haven't got the download, but is this the same as the triple-bridge shuffle from the Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes?

    Old books?

Medifro, no, I didn't see Marlo do them, hence my use of the word "apparently". I'm merely reporting what others (Jon Racherbaumer is the first name that comes to mind, but I could dig up some other sources if you wanted me to), have conveyed. In no way was I trying to downplay Marlo's skill, in...

    Old books?

Personally, I absolutely love old books, partly because I've got a collector's mentality, and I'd rather spend a ridiculous amount of money on a beautiful hardback first edition of something than download a PDF or get a modern paperback. However, if you're looking at it from a practical point of...

    Ed Marlo Books

Definitely get both. Erdnase is out of copyright now so can be obtained very cheaply in book form or free as a PDF. Seconds, Centers and Bottoms is a bit more challenging if you haven't got a grounding in the classic methods of false dealing. Marlo assumes you will have played around a bit with...

    Cards

Kardwell do custom printing. I don't know about the quality though.
