I think the other thing that should be thought about is the time and era that the books were written in and while his books are great reading, they shouldn't be considered gospel and shouldn't be followed down to the T. But then again this should be a given with ANY book on Theory or magic...

Glycerin & Rosewater is also good too. I tend to use Glycerin & Rosewater, Glycerin, rubbing alcohol. Put that in a small spray bottle, shake it up and you should be able to pull of Seconds and anything else much better. Most of this stuff can be found in your local CVS or Walgreen for pretty cheap.

I remember reading that an effect doesn't really become your own till you've performed it around a thousand times or so.

One of things you could simply do to prevent this from happening again is just ask the the guy who booked you if they have any other sorts of entertainment hired for the night. Because really it does seem impossible to compete with half naked dancers and two live bands.

I don't understand this topic. Does he mean SHOW Business or SHOE Business. Because from what I can gather from the post is that he wants to see a performance of a certain effect and tips on it. Otherwise if he wants performance videos and tips on SHOW Business than it's incredibly broad and vague.

You shouldn't be afraid to use gaff's, just don't rely on them 100%. Use them combined with already skilled enough sleight of hand. There however times when they can either really knock people dead and other times when some rules are meant to be broken.

Jason England would disagree with you on that. I've already mentioned that the 2nd deal is a lot more versatile than the DPS. But hey, whatever floats your boat sweet cheeks.

2nd Deal. There is a ton of things magically and non magically that can be done with the 2nd deal. The DPS is really something that I don't think you'd get much use out of, if any.
