t11.bulletin - CRUSH by Eric Ross / full preview video

I can't wait for the release. This effect is motivating me to try something other than strictly card magic. Typically, I'l dismiss any non-card effects just because it's my style, but I can't let this one pass. I'm trying to figure out how to fit it in my style, I'll have to learn a few more...

    Propaganda, Guardians or Centurions?

^ agreed. I don't have any Propagandas, so I can't judge on the feel (personally, I'm not a fan of the look). However, I own some Guardians and Centurions and they are both printed with the same stock and finish. They're both great decks and handle fantastically, I've been using a deck of...

Saturday Night Contest - Roundtable Discussion - Eric Ross

CRUSH is one of the most creative effects I've heard of in my life. Was the creative process for something like this different than you would normally go about making an effect/ is there something about the process to note? And how did it strike you to devise such a method/gimmick to perform it...

"How did you do that?" Responses:

Depending on the intimacy of the situation (whether I'm performing a hard hitting, drawn out effect or some quick, D&D style eye candy) I'll reply, respectively, with ignoring the question or leaning towards them and pointing at the deck and saying, "Well first I take the deck and - just...

    Who inspired you?

Dan and Dave Buck first inspired me to pick up a deck of cards and start to learn flourishing (after seeing Smokin' Aces and researching them later) and following my further investigation into the vast magic industry, I've found I have a few role-models in magic who I look to to help me become...

Leave a Message at the Beep...

And spend 15% or so of any pay so you don't have to answer a phone? ...HBO's new hit show....Magic Entourage.. Agents have their advantages, but not everyone needs them. Just answer the phone yourself with a courteous, approachable greeting, and you still don't have to worry about "people...

    Marked Decks

Agreed. Those two tools make up a majority of my repertoire. I personally mark both, makes it easy to read and use at any point. Psycho is also very good, I bought it this weekend. Not traditional magic, per se, and the effects are sort of unconventional, but I'd still say worth it. It also...

How do you publish a card flourish?

video sites like youtube or vimeo are always a good idea. you can also submit a video of the flourish to the T11 Media section, and they might showcase it.

Gaff with a normal Bicycle Joker...

Cool idea. I recently got DVR and I was thinking of a way to personalize the effect, and came up with this kind of idea: force the six of spades and incorporate it into the control note the joker and say how it can tell us the card, bring attention to the shoulders and reveal as such, then...

t11.bulletin - THE CLASSIC PASS with Jason England : Now Available

fo shizzle. I was recently thinking about suggesting Mr. England teaching this or asking why it hasn't been done already as a 1on1. Buying ASAFP.

    Theory11 Tally Ho's

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I got mine at a Costco, not T11. I think JDENredden is right about a bad batch.

Saturday Night Contest - The Magic-Con All Star Roundtable Discussion

I felt similarly, but also a bit hypocritical because I did not post a question. Personally, I didn't ask a question because I am so new into the magic scene that I did not feel I had anything worth asking, whether it be already answered in some source or just plain out of place. Hopefully next...

    Theory11 Tally Ho's

not to be racist against any particular seals, but black seals seem to be just plain bad. I recently got a brick of bikes, and each had a black seal, and every single deck was cut poorly, with uneven/off-center borders, and the deck itself was rough and clumpy. not sure what the deal is here...

    Whats your strongest mentalism effect...?

I don't do a lot of mentalism, but the strong ones I do are "The Devil's Touch" (really hard, but kills) and "Pariah" is pretty good too, both by Daniel Madison (I recently bought Inside, been busy)

    Bicycle in Smokin' Aces 2

Dave doubled for Jeremy Piven (Aces) in the first one when he did card flourishes, like Genesis and Sybil. Also the Carnahan fan, which was named after the director, Joe Carnahan.
