If you are getting a Kennedy half shell (non-silver years), go with Johnson. It's very good quality and not too expensive. Plus, if this is your first time with shell work, don't practice with your custom made gaffs. You'll really hate yourself if you ding up your shell.

You can use any rubber bands and go directly into CMH. BUT, people recommend contrasting colors because of the visual display. Two different colored rubber bands linked together looks much better.

Marty's method is much easier, but the sacrifice is the cards don't feel "proper" (rubber cement method). Not too big of a deal, though. Dry mount is tougher but the cards feel normal.

Can you post a few pictures of the red backs? You don't get to see them in the demo video and there are no pictures of the red ones in the slide gallery... I'd really appreciate it.
