    Best Coin Shell

I wouldn't get the Schoolcraft stuff unless you know how to work with shells. Johnsons are always getting good reviews and are pretty reasonable.

Is this a good excuse for NOT palming?

Jay Sankey has small hands and he is still able to palm cards pretty good. It's all about misdirection and having actions that go along with palming the card (IE; reaching into your pocket for the card or your wallet.)

    Card in Bra

This is also a great trick if your goal is to get sued for Sexual Harassment.

    What do you think?

Funnily enough, a friend of mine saw The masked Magician on TV and pretty much said it was stupid for exposing the tricks and this friend of mine isn't a magician. Audiences are a lot more intelligent than before, but I am sure anybody could dress up something like Card in Hand which is an...

Can a trick have too many booms?

It becomes lame when effects have too many climaxes or kickers. Because the end result is usually confusion and people will end up expecting it. Then it's no longer a kicker ending or anything. Tho there are a few effects that properly build off of like 2-3 kickers. Rollover Aces is one of them.

    What do you think?

Eh, he's just doing it because he THINKS he can get away with it again. (tho he's probably on the border of being banned a 4th time.) Don't let him get to you.

    Card to Wallet Battle

If you do this battle, May I suggest that you record a performance with an actual audience involved as well. Then judge the winner on things like Presentation and other such stuff.

    'Surfaced' or 'Search and Destroy'?

I'd get Search and Destroy and also get The Paper Engine. So much useful advice and great magic in it. Search and Destroy is a simple effect and it's extremely powerful. The Clipshift is a nifty thing but would take you almost a year to get good at and I don't see the practicality in it...

    What do you think?

He mentioned that he stopped because he didn't like carrying around clown noses. Tho he did have a very good routine where 30 or so appear in your hand. Tho this isn't about Eugene Burger and we could go on forever mentioning this and that magician and it wouldn't get us anywhere. I think...

    Card in Bra

Good trick if you want to get slapped in the face and called a perv. Other than that, this looks pretty much set up, unless the card actually flew INTO her bra while they distracting her. Tho I highly doubt that..

Anyone know where to learn methods for this effect?

You can accomplish this if you have stooges or a Invisible Deck or a stacked deck.

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

What drives me... My car! Actually just being different and not being a sheep. Also I highly doubt Steerpike posts like he acts in real life. For a few reasons that it would likely not get him any gigs no matter how talented he is. He would probably end up losing a lot of friends. And...

    What do you think?

I believe you can convince people that you magically switched out the cards and some will actually believe it as well. One effect that does this is Seductive Switch 2. Now I don't know if anybody has presented that has a "Magical" version, but those who have the style and actual presence to pull...

    Get Nervous?

David Stone also said as well.. Your nerves are there to remind you that you are ready or not ready. If you let them get to you, then you're not. But if you push through it and jump in. Then you are.

    Blank

It's neat but I don't see the point of the X's and effects like have been done before. I think there was one where the blank cards would clone the Queen of Hearts or something.

    Does Coin Magic...

Well yeah we already agreed on what the problems were and how to fix them. Most of the posts were my fault (tho you try to post common sense at 1 am after a long day at college when you're eyes can barely read anything.). We've already mentioned how proper audience interaction can enhance...

    Get Nervous?

You still get nervous, just that your nerves don't bother you that much.

    Get Nervous?

Pretty much everybody gets nervous during or before shows. The best way to deal with it is to just exhale through your nose a few times before you perform and then just take your time performing.

    Does Coin Magic...

That type of attitude will get you nowhere.

    Flicker by Michael Paul:

From what I remember him saying in an old post is that it uses a pretty small piece of paper.
