Hey there,
It can help to facilitate the LePaul Spread, but unless this magician exclusively performs effects with face-up/face-down separations, I doubt it's of much use. It could actually hinder the magician's ability to perform a lot of sleights, like the perfect Faro shuffle for example...
Thank you!
I've recently researched and found out that I've actually improved on a Roy Walton idea with this routine. He has a trick called "A Scarf called Moebius" that's very similar, but less efficient. I'm quite chuffed about that, actually. But it is similar enough that I'd feel weird...
Reviving this briefly because I came across an interesting paragraph on Denis Behr's database of conjuring credits while I was researching the Faro Shuffle. The original poster might find this information useful:
"The original purpose of the faro shuffle was to gain an advantage at the game of...
Hey Theory11,
Just wanted to share a video I took of a new concept that I’m currently exploring. A deck switch is when the magician secretly switches decks. This might be the opposite of that.
Scott Baird.
To illustrate another use for this concept, here's a Lottery Number prediction. It wouldn't take much to create one for a headline prediction, either.
Remember, because the Google Sheets document can be shared with your audience in real time, they can test it themselves to see that it is in...
Hi All,
If you do a Zoom magic show, I had an idea that might appeal to you. It’s a way to frame a Card at Any Number effect using Google Sheets. The great part about the Google Suite is that you can instantly share access to the document with the person on the call, and they can view any...
If you’re interested in this type of magic, and working with culls/outjogs, Marlo’s “Unit Upjog Addition” is used by Jennings in “The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings” and may be expanded on in “Mr Jennings Takes it Easy”. It’s a very useful move and I highly recommend the Jennings routine...
Loving these contests! It’s great to get a prompt every week that sometimes pushes you to do something you wouldn’t normally do.
So, I started making a compilation video of my “style” and ended up with a video resumé of sorts. My style in magic combines my love of art with my passion for...
Faro shuffles accomplish so much, and yet you can easily pass them off as "just a shuffle" where everything looks "random". It's the ultimate of sneakiness. 🤣
Thanks for the kind words!
Scott.
Hello all,
Just felt like sharing a new card routine that I put together for myself. Crediting the method- it combines a special Faro shuffle that I use in some of my own original work with the Undo Influence Control, created by Simon Aronson and explained in depth in his book, Try The...
If it’s in your area, a lot of art colleges have jewellery departments and metal shops. If you don’t learn to do it yourself, you can still have one of the students do it for you, for a price.
Here’s my take on a multiple selection to pockets routine. Some of the thinking in this routine is inspired by Chris Mayhew (hence the title).
Please let me know if you enjoyed it!
Scott.
