How do you go from "a guy who knows a few tricks" to a "magician"?

I'd disagree that that is a good criteria. Plenty of people show tricks to strangers... But that is all they are. They simply know how to do several tricks.

How do you go from "a guy who knows a few tricks" to a "magician"?

Like how do you know that you are a magician and not just someone who can show tricks? What is your criteria? At what point do you consider someone a good magician and not just a person with tricks?

    Coin Magic

I agree... BOTH are great FOR US... and that is the key word... Because, we as magic enthusiasts pay closer attention. Laypeople just do not keep their eyes on the hands to see enough. Their eyes always wonder, and for them it is hard to pay attention to card magic enough to be amazed. Some do...

    Magicians ARE NOT liars!

I hear this all the time. People say that magicians are liars... Even some magicians say this. Penn Jillette says jokingly that he is a scumbag.... James Randi calls himself an honest liar. I have aunts who think so too... I was performing a sucker trick for my aunt. So, I pretend to mess up...

Which is a better way to learn magic?

Again, I can't say how much I LOVE books... I mean, SERIOUSLY! But sometimes I find that videos don't get enough appreciation. I know, from a personal experience how good videos can be. Take my example. I have the book "Modern Coin Magic" by Bobo, which is basically an encyclopedia on coin...

Which is a better way to learn magic?

Ok. So, I want to ask all of you, what do you think... Are books a better way to learn magic or videos? Now, for me personally, they serve different purposes. Books are a GREAT reference and you can keep them by your side ALL THE TIME, they are more convenient! Videos on the other hand, seem to...

    I am very sad

No... See... MOST HECKLERS are not douchebags per se... they just want the attention... They like the idea that the whole audience watches you 2 face off... So when they get embarrassed publicly like that, then they stay quiet... If I perform for someone like that... I have several tricks...

Ahh... my love for magic goes way back. As a small kid, I always loved magic related stuff, but I couldn't master stuff... My love for magic was reignited. I want to be an ER doctor.
