Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

First of all, I made it CLEAR I was talking about tutorials NOT REVEALS... But even then, my point applies... Search ANY ARTICLE about Mad Cow Disease... You will GET information about human prion diseases, yes it will "suggest" CJD and FFI to you... But you do not know (I am assuming stuff...

Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

These are just small hypothetical situations... The idea is that people want to know how things work. YouTube is a place for that. There is a lot of things, both good and bad. Would you be against the tutorials of card fans, second dealing? Some people want to know card tricks. Why is it bad to...

Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

Wow... Thank you for responses! To answer several questions about me: I liked magic always. Last year my brother showed several clips of David Blaine and I kind of took it more seriously from then on. I mostly do card magic. I think that it is easy to follow for most people, a cheap prop, and...

Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

All of you seem to miss my point. To address @RealityOne comments... I do NOT support exposure. My point is that it doesn't affect me at ALL! I rarely learn from YouTube... My point is COMPLETELY different... @ChristopherT also got it wrong! I am NOT saying that people are entitled to know how...

What do you think about this performance?

I disagree with you. It wasn't just skill display (which Roth has a lot of! Have I ever mentioned that I am his BIG FAN?)! It was a great atmosphere for coin magic, his humorous remarks, and the stories of coins were nice... I loved every part of it!

Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

Umm... Actually I don't know what to think... Most of the time, I have thought of exposure as bad... But here is something. I am a proud Wikipedian. Wikipedia is NOT focused on exposing magic tricks. But if there is a RELIABLE source it will publish the method. I removed some of the methods...

What do you think about this performance?

There are many reasons... I am a big David Roth fan. And to see him at this age still doing it... Also, the use of the cup, the wand everything... Just love him. But his hands were a little shaky (which, I, EVEN as an 18 year old, can relate to)... So what do you think about that whole performance?

    WHAT IS MAGIC

Is exposure a significant problem in magic?

For me there is a difference between exposure and tutorial. Exposure is the revelation of a method. Tutorial is intended for you to perform. For example, you can watch a documentary on how brain surgery is performed. But that is completely different from learning how to perform surgery

    YouTube magic

Ok... So some time ago, I used to post about exposure. I was thought to be a troll. And I had to stop. Just to make it clear, this post is NOT ABOUT EXPOSURE... I have a different question here. It concerns, magic tutorials and magic on You Tube in general. First of all, I VERY rarely (ALMOST...

Thoughts on Mark Wilson's "Complete Course in Magic"

    Magicians ARE NOT liars!

How is it lying, if it is part of an art form? Would you say that a theater actor who pretends to be stabbed is lying? No
