    Which tricks should I perform?

For 10 to 12 year olds, you can do card tricks provided they are presented right. I'd avoid doing a whole show of them, but one or two will work.

Should all magic demos include an unedited performance?

I think the key is what is edited out of the video. Does it conceal the method or does it conceal a trade off that would need to be considered in buying the effect. That is, it is fine if someone complains that they feel ripped off because if they could have seen the entire video multiple...

    Which tricks should I perform?

I'd avoid three card monte. It can come across as a challenge and that age group might just grab the cards to see what they are.

    Which tricks should I perform?

I'd go with the color changing deck / Chicago Opener routine. It is easy to follow and color changing deck should get a really good reaction. With the right scripting, you can get it to fill the time and be entertaining.

    types of coins

So I like Walking Liberty halves, to me they sort of look elegant. Morgan dollars s have a classic look to them - I may use them with Victorian Coins routine. The Peace dollars have almost an art-deco look to them. My recommendation is to find a coin that you like the look and then see if the...

    Packet trick for crush❤️

It depends on exactly what you want to do and what methods you want to use. My usual mode is to review a variety of methods and then adapt from there. The routine I perform is one from Simon Lovell's Packet Killer DVD. There are a lot of great routines in Frank Garcia's Wildcard Miracles.

    Magic Books

Let's start with Card College -- If you don't have the set, you should. The teaching and effects are top notch. For close-up in the hands, get the Art of Astonishment series. For standing up in front of a group, get Drawing Room Deceptions. For some really well crafted routines, get One Degree

Pointers for Beginners in Card Magic

I'd avoid YouTube. Most of the teaching is bad and most of the effects are not original. If someone has something good, they are not going to put it on YouTube. I prefer to perform effects that my spectators can't find on the internet before the end of the show.

    Approach to Practice and Learning

Welcome to the forums and welcome back to magic. Card College is an amazing learning resource and Mnenonica is another great book. I started magic around age 39. Being older has its advantages -- you have more disposable income to buy more books (I think I'm over $200) and more experience in...
