    The Trilogy Tricks

oh yeah I've been doing a variation on their card-to-mouth where you lick the card and stick the back of it to your forehead. the misdirection is perfect and waiting for them to actually look up just gets funnier and funnier the longer it takes em :D

    Show your Jackson 5.

not bad but you take waaaa.... ....aaaaayyyyyyy too long to get into some of the moves. Like I thought you were tuning a piano or something when you were setting up for the Leno. I think you just got pnwed by a 12 year old over on decknique (search for Micheal-ZOMG)

    Routining flourishes

if you're getting the DVDs, you might as well get the book too! the DVDs do not teach all the flourishes, they just demonstrate what's in the book. however by watching the DVDs you can probably figure out a lot of stuff, but it's a really good book too :D

Favorite Deck Quality + looks + handling

well, I had posted that before I got my guardians in. now i think the guardians have just a *little* edge over the 1800s, in fanning and uhhhh... fanning. they are both still REALLY good at the double lift. and that's all I use them for.

    Routining flourishes

this is actually a VERY good question to be asking, medic91w. if you want the #1 pros best material on the subject, you can go to www.flourishman.com and check out the "DVD" section, he just released the third companion DVD (costs $30) that has an entire section on routining flourishes...

How much practice does it take?

i think it also establishes muscle and memory patterns and limits CONCEPTUAL creativity. i.e. someone decides to get "creative" by making a WERM with an extra packet. whoop de do. if you get the encyclopedia or similar source, you can learn all the different concepts, there IS a lot more...

    Carnahan Fan Production

ah okay I wasn't sure so I just went off. nothing else to do anyways... lol yeah you should check out Jeff Mcbrides "the art of card manipulation" DVDs vol 1, 2 and 3 (although clip stealing is on the 2nd I think) if you are getting into this production type of magic. it's going to be...

    I have a Cardistry / Flourishing question.

yeah but I think MOST of the time, the reason that we don't usually see the formation on these vids is because the n00bs take like 10 years to get the display set up, so they just edit out the painfully slow process! this is why I have a trust problem with hack-job epileptically edited films...

brian tudor's "Generation eXtreme" is a must-buy. don't get the older version Generation X. teaching is worse so I hear.

    Mirage, first XCM performance

that is a really sweet variation on the WERM then. I have been mastering my variation on the pressure fan where it only opens up about 60 degrees lol :D

    Ellusionist or Theory11?

Hey Jordan I just noticed you're from Washington! a couple decknique members are meeting at the magic shop in Pike's Place market at 12 noon on THIS Saturday if you want to stop by and say hi and jam some cards or magic... :) we're going to try to convince the shop owner to start carrying...

    I have a Cardistry / Flourishing question.

you can find TONS of tutorials on displays... go to www.decknique.net and look in their "tutorial" media section (man I'm getting tired of typing that lol!) also, www.superhandz.com -> forums -> member vids/tutorials has several display ideas. why don't you make up your own?

    Help, What Is This Cut?

this is the best description of a cut I have ever read! :D

    Mirage, first XCM performance

is this the twisted aces from decknique? i think it must not be. there was basically nothing great about this video's content. the best part in my opinion was the moving camera work. however the amount of filters on the images made it incomprehensible at times. I also can't figure out why...

    Carnahan Fan Production

    1. clip steal the deck is where you turn to show your left side only to the audience, hiding your right side hand which is stealing your packet of cards from a clip (or in this case, just taking a deck out your pocket I guess) ... you will want to reach for something with your left hand to give...

    Newbie

SinMan, i hope you never get a job at the post office. I think being older is actually an advantage, you have more $$$ to spend on cards & DVDs, you have a more mature outlook on learning (i.e. Training XCM vs Practicing XCM) and your muscles are generally more developed. heck i...
