Im going to back this up as I was about to write something very similar. Another way to introduce yourself,if they dont know your going to show them magic, is tell them that your a performer or Illusionist. Illusionist sounds alot more serious thing than if you were to say magician.

Because,like vernon, he has this affinity for card techniques and cheating moves. He might be more than a move monkey and loves to read about the history about the moves. Maybe.
