I think everyone starts out copying other people's work. The problem is when the lack of originality continues among the more experienced magicians. I just want to cry when I see professionals performing stuff out of the box using the same hackneyed jokes and lines.
Yes and no. It may be...
To me it is a matter of personal preference. Choose whatever ending do you think works best because if you like it, that will be conveyed to your audience in your performance.

When I logged in this morning, I saw the overnight posts in response to your questions. Those posts were totally out of line and uncalled for. I've deleted those posts and banned the user who made those posts. The T11 moderators do our best to keep the discussions helpful and...

Start with the fundamentals. Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic, Scarne on Card Tricks, Royal Road, Card College, Bobo's Modern Coin Magic, etc.
Great book and wonderfully written, but probably something for after you get the fundamentals down.
There is a truth to that. People that I perform for that are older - say over 50 - often think that a stripper deck is the method. Most younger people haven't seen it or just dismiss it as a magic kit trick.
I've been working on a project based on strippers and short cards and have found a...
