You should buy Tarbells Complete Course in Magic. It has loads of material on Eggs, Handkerchiefs you name it. I mean if Peter Griffin can do this , than I'm sure magic with small items shouldn't be a problem.

You can force a card, in this case the Ace of Clubs or Three of Diamonds. Then take the Joker with the selection from your pocket and tell them that you knew they were going to choose that card because you had a Joker holding the card the whole time. Welcome to Theory11

Jason England has a great tutorial on the double lift. You might want to look into that. Your double-lift looks fine to me, however you might learn something from the tutorial. He has a bunch of different DL's in the video.
