ive been into magic for about 5-6 years. I didn't really start performing and taking it big until i was 11. I'm 13 now, and started when I was 7. I performed my first trick at 8 years old and have been into it ever since. haha

when I performed at my school and when i perform on the streets, i always get a loud scream when they see it. I think it's your presentation, jut like almost everyone said. Don't do the "dan and dave monotone" style, try and make it more exciting, that way it IS a magical moment for them.

tom, im not sure if ive come across dvds that actually focus only on misdirection, but ill tell you what i think. If you buy a dvd, that either has 1 or more tricks on it, they WILL and should teach you the misdirection needed. This misdirection teaching can not only be used for that one trick...

like ajohnson and tally-ho said, it depends on the effect and whether or not you can actually use it in a routine or if it's a stand-alone effect that's super killer. If it has 1 trick on it, it shouldn't be just 20 minutes, it should be more like 40-60 minutes at least. Most 1 trick DVDs these...

i would say no. the reason why is because it starts to look bad (the edges) once you use them for a week or so. The edges turn from black to white and looks really horrible. However if you just want them to collect, than that's fine, but if you want to do serious magic with them or flourishing...
