I got 'Worker of the Week' on the WPR!

That's Great Jeff. Nice to see the progress you made on this from a while back.

    Obsession with a "Borrowed Deck."

9 times out of 10 if I am at someone's house and they throw a deck at me....it is has a big ol' rubber band slapped around it and cards are barely workable for sleights. That's when I will perform a few self workers or mathematical effects with it and happily hand it back. Magicians do tend to...

    Magic Pricing

How many years experience do you have under your belt? Not just flipping cards in your bedroom but actually out in about real world experience dealing with hecklers, high class individuals, drunks, teens that won't' shut up for two seconds...etc. Pricing depends on the type of event, the...

    Is this an original trick?

TeeDee, it could be for publishing an effect anywhere. I was just throwing out an example. A lot of younger guys don't understand how much time and effort it takes to research an effect and contact all of the people who have worked on it prior and get permission and things like that before...

    Is this an original trick?

Yes...you must ask for permission. You CANNOT just say "do the Asher twist". The reason I know is because I submitted something with the Asher Twist and Lee Asher said "NO" you cannot submit the effect using my Asher Twist. Eostresh is a little more correct by saying, stay away from artists'...

    Is this an original trick?

You must have permission for the "move, sleight, or handling". For example: If you have a routine or effect that involves and Asher twist (even just to reverse a card) you must contact Lee Asher for permission.

Pictures From the Battle of Magicians in Ohio

Here are just a few pictures from our IBM ring's convention "The Battle of Magicians" in Canton, OH. The line up was outstanding. I met a bunch of new friends and had a blast as usual. With Magifest no longer around I look for this Ohio convention to grow tremendously in the future. We has just...

    Need your opinion

I think everything looks pretty darn good except it seems odd that you have 3 videos to look at right there on the front screen / home page. It seems too cluttered with that many videos to look at. You have a Testimonial link but your testimonial videos are right there on the front home page...

    Pop Up Performers Table...

http://www.flipdisc.com/mmp.htm#Street Tables I know Gazzo and my mentor Ed Ellis both use these street tables which are very nice and easily portable. Scroll down towards the very bottom to see Ed and Gazzo with theirs. You can even have a lock box on it for if you need to step away from your...

    Boycotting Hank Lee

That's the issue I was referring to Randy. I was charged multiple times for items that were "supposedly' in stock but were not. I'd wait sometimes almost over a month or more for an item that may or may not ever come.

    52magic.com?

I know for a fact it (the floating table) is the Losander knock off. I don't know for sure any more, but they even use to use Losander's demo video for their version of the table as well....ha ha.

    Boycotting Hank Lee

I had a few run ins with their company and after about the 3rd I finally just stopped ordering from him. I believe his family and co-workers are running the shop as per the email Hank sent out a day or so after that article came out. That news spread threw the magic community like wild fire. I'm...

    Black & White

I wasn't a big fan of the song but I liked the footage shot and it was edited pretty nicely as well. Anyone who has bought a DSLR to shoot video with knows that there is a learning curve and a lot is done by trial and error. It has taken me a few months to get everything down to where I am...

    Spit Tips?

I don't want to expose anything or ask too much but could you use the oil from the side of your nose? I've seen people reach up with their hand and run their finger along the side of their nose and the oil helps create some stickiness. For example: you could do it with your pinky when getting...

    Magic Shops suggestions?

Denny and Lee Magic shop in Vegas is very small but well stocked on great effects and props. Take a quick cab ride from your hotel and kill an hour or two in there. As mentioned...skip Houdini's if you are a more of an advanced magician.

    EMC DVD Set...

It is an amazing set of DVD's and well worth the price of registration alone. Definitely! I believe you just pay the registration fee one time and that includes your DVD set getting mailed out to your home afterwards.

    How do you get gigs?

    Are "those" gimmicked? Ha Ha.

    How do you get gigs?

Good point Formula. Many people who hire me have seen me entertain at other venues and then they come up to me and get a business card and usually I get a phone call or email soon after about an upcoming event that they have as well. Many clients (especially the higher end ones) want to see what...

    Kids show card magic

I will cast a vote for Mark Wilson's "Bigger Card" if your kid audience is 6 or under. I use it occasionally still as well and they "understand" what has happened. It gets a few laughs from the adults too. David made a valid point as he has a ton of children's magic experience. Most of the...
