    Update on "booya!"

That was kind of the route I was thinking as well.

    Update on "booya!"

Well fellas, I have once again received bad news that this 2nd Winery is NOT willing to give me a go either. Apparently the owners excuse was that he has tried magic 2X in the past and both guys were horrible experiences to work with and so he is done traveling down that road. Sounds like once...

    What are some textual tricks?

You may want to look into a Magic Square and even perform it for the class up on the board. Get it down fast and play it up correctly and it fries people.

You'll love it. It was my first purchase from Theory11 and I performed it at my magic club meeting 3 years ago and it floored a group of older magicians that had never seen it. I have 10 guys immediately coming up to me after the meeting wanting to know how it was done. Yes you can perform it...

    Update on "booya!"

Rik, I know...I thought about that, but being that it was just my wife and I, I wasn't just going to go up to a random table and begin an impromptu performance. Trust me...I did have the urge. I do have another winery / restaurant contacting me back tomorrow to see what their thoughts...

    Last Minute Gig...Success!

Well done Jacob. This is how the word of mouth will travel like wild fire and you will start getting more and more gigs. Thanks for sharing.

    Custom Playing Cards

Custom decks handle great and look sweet, but when it comes down to me doing my gigs and paid performances, a brand new deck of Bicycles is what "appears" normal to my spectators. I find myself using them more than anything else.

    Those darn catchy previews!

True, but even so I will not purchase an effect unless I get to view the entire clip or I get to see the person demo it "live" right in front of me in a shop or at a dealer stand. I've been burned too many times. Any time I'm going to spend over $100 I need to be able to even hold and look at...

    Why Do We Sign Things?

To be honest, I never really have the spectators sign anything unless it is a signature effect like Anniversary Waltz or an effect where you are making their signature disappear and reappear somewhere else. Most spectators probably don't care if they get to sign something unless you are...

    Those darn catchy previews!

I think if it is something like Solo or cardistry than you don't really need to see full routines, however if it is an actual magic effect, I totally agree that the video should show a full presentation from beginning to end whether it be in the studio or in front of live spectators.

    Update on "booya!"

Jacob, Should I have gotten to show the manager just a few minutes worth I would have gone into mismade bill, Kostya's Warning with the lighter, CMH on her thumbs, and then finished with a sloppy triumph or Biddle. Just enough to show that I have the skill, presentation and would have been...

Something different than the usual Ambitious!

My recommendation would be a sloppy triumph routine, a TNR, or an Anniversary Waltz perhaps to go along with the list that you have thus far.

    Update on "booya!"

When a meal runs well over $100 for two, I'm probably not going to just pop back in with friends (who would also have to pay for $100 meals) and attempt the David Stone method. This place was high class and would probably kindly ask me to be seated back at my table from what I saw last night...

    Update on "booya!"

Jacob, I did NOT get to audition or do an impromptu performance. The lady contacted me back today and unfortunately she said they only hire musicians and are not even contemplating close up magic at this time. Rats....I have a feeling they have no idea what good close up magic is. Oh well, at...

    Update on "booya!"

Jacob, sounds great. I went to the high class winery place last night with my wife to scope it out. Wow...this place was top notch. Our dinner, wine, and tip was about $130 so if I can get into this place to work on weekends they should definitely be able to throw a good price back at me if they...

    Rekindling A Flame

Gary, Where are you located in Ohio? What club was it? I'm in the Canton, Ohio Magicrafters and we have an outstanding club of guys. We are about 30 members strong and have guys from age 30-75 in our club. You are correct in your statements about a club. Some guys will harp on you and tell you...

    Youtube Help!

I'd definitely go with Vimeo as well to keep your quality. My only suggestion was regarding your file size being way to large. By converting it down to 720 or smaller it uploads much faster. I think Zenn probably knows what he is talking about regarding the music problem and getting blocked.

    Youtube Help!

You will mostly need to get a free converter and convert the HD footage down to 720p or 360p more than likely. I'm assuming but I could be wrong that your HD footage is 1080p?

I have watched online lectures at themagicsessions.com and penguin magic and both were free and outstanding! I would highly recommend both.

    History of Magic

Yikes...Draven and Reality One just wiped out my list for you. Good luck on it and don't plagiarize.
